Sibei stress le.

Drive car also have to choose btw 95 and 98.

I had nvr pump anything lower than 98 on this island.  All my cars (including Nissan Sunny) use 98 only.

If still need to stress about it, might as well sell the car & take B.M.W.

Agreed. Don't stress. I've been pumping 92 for the past 8 years for my bread n butter car and 97 in JB (no choice). Car is still working fine. You want to eat kopitiam, food court or restaurant?

If you pay by credit card, there is no need to flash or use a MYkad IMHO.

I drive Malaysian rental car, pump just using credit card, at no point need to show MyKad.

Just pump the 95 using credit card. Act blur if petrol uncle approach you. Just sorry sorry. No one will bother one lah!

I think if drive Malaysian car then no worries pump 95.

I think its based on car and not driver nationality.

:D

Last time the difference of 98 used to be 8-10cents. Now it's 35 cents diff

See how the petrol cartels are fleecing us off ?

Before budget 2015 , Gov tax per litre is  41 cents RON 95 and 44 cents RON 98 .

Tax diff is 3 cents , their retail difference is 10 cents .

Their "mark up"  of RON 98 over 95 is 7 cents .

After budget 2015 , Gov increase tax for RON 95 by 15 cents to 56 cents ;  RON 98 by 20 cents to 64 cents .

The tax diff is now 8 cents ,  but their 95/98 diff  is now 35 cents  .

Their "mark up" of RON98 over 95 is now 27 cents .

If your car can take 95 , and you pump 98 , assuming 50 litres per fill up , you pay $17.50 extra .

 4 fillings a month , you pay $70 extra.

Thats $840 a year .

$8,400 over 10 years .

Please dont feed the Gov and the Cartels .Check your car manual , and just put in the min RON that is required .

If you think the amount is peanuts , please go ahead and pump Vpower , and contribute $16,000 over 10 years .

Hi guys

After pumping 98 for the last few years. It feels very expensive to pump 98.

Last time the difference of 98 used to be 8-10cents. Now it's 35 cents diff

If I decide to switch to 95:

1) will it cause long term carbon built up?

2) more expensive repairs due to using 95

3) liken to penny foolish pound foolish?

I also am concerned about switching brands as friends and close relatives keep saying Spc is not good and will cause damage to the vehicle. In reality we never take their advice seriously.

My last car is Toyota, 1st owner from 2004-2014...

Throughout my 10 years, I only pump SPC 92/95 RON fuel.

I remember duration the 80k milage major servicing, the filter pump and filter need to change because as recommended by AD.

I am very surprise when the the mechanic took out the pump and show me...

It was clean and almost look mint condition...the filter bag was clear..no debris inside.

If not due to AD requirement, I would have told the mechanic to just put it back, I can use it for another 80k milage.

What I meant is that a Mykad is not used. Regardless of plate, I just used my credit card and pumped 95 straight into tank.

Some want cheap but worry about lup sup yoo, so they self add addictive like techron, maz, lm valve clean etc.

If you pump 95 in sg and then buy addictive to self add, for a 40+L tank, it's similar to pumping vpower/98

No need la. Singapore petrol very clean even for 92 one la. If go up north cannot guarantee.

If go up north just pump 98/blower. Price still alot cheaper compare to sg. Once in a while"pamper" the ride
