Good-Carbuyer 1st Gear September 27, 2011 Share September 27, 2011 Yesterday at around 11.40pm along CTE towards Jurong just before entering into the 1st tunnel before Bukit Timah. Traffic was light and I was travelling at 80+km/h on the 3rd lane, on the 4th lane there was another car slightly infront of me then this fuxking Comfort taxi driver which is on the 2nd lane which is almost level with the other car. Suddenly without any signalling the taxi slowly veer to its left and into my lane and by this time my front bumper was almsot near its rear door so I just blast my horn hoping that it will back out and at the same time I remenber my head was swinging from left to right and trying to manuvoure my car between the taxi and the car to my left and all this while my tumb was still at the horn. But this fuxker never back out and continue eating into my lane and by this time we are side by side and I can see its side mirror is so so close, then I notice my left lane is clear so I just steer into the left lane. ( To the bro who were driving beside me, so Sorry and Thank You, you must have slow down to avoid collision and exited before the tunnel as I didnt notice your car much as my main concentration was on the taxi and my best impression on you is during the time I was almost sandwich by you and the taxi.) After that I cut back infornt of the taxi and this time I just have to do it, wind down my window and show him my solid finger and from my rear view mirror I can see no reaction from the taxi guy. so this time I filter right and slow down to side by side and lower down my passenger window and blast my horn again, wtf the fellow just drive on stone face and expressionless and btw there is 2 more men on board and they are equally expressionless after this whole episode. This morning will be making a call to the taxi company to complain and tell them my suspicion that their driver might be drunk. It was slightly different yesterday just after lunch. I was driving along Lane 2, and the red taxi was in Lane 3 besides mine (both within speed limits), when I noticed it started veering (no trafficator signalling) towards my car. I tooted horn and it went back straight. Then it repeated veering (no trafficator signalling) towards my car again for me to repeat the horn tooting. I was in no hurry, so I accelerated ahead then veered a little into Lane 3 to slow him. Return to Lane 2 and repeated it. He wake up and overtook me when I kept to Lane 3. Further down the road it stopped by the kerb (no idea whats up, driver fell asleep?). I overtook it and go my way.

Jtay 1st Gear September 28, 2011 Share September 28, 2011 life will be so much easier and stress free if just let taxi comes in. I agree bro. No need to behave like F1 driver, just be cool, enjoy your ride and give way to the taxi. everyone will be happy
Ocean6576 4th Gear September 28, 2011 Share September 28, 2011 I dont remember when learning driving that we have to give way to vehicles cutting into your lane at a very close distance to your car. Many drivers dont plan their route well and simply signal and cut and we have to give way? In this case why cant the TD slow down and cut in from the back then? Once again, many a times we experience that cars turning into your lane from the left (eg T junction) then only to see them pick up speed at their own sweet time while you have to brake pretty hard to slow down accommodate them? Day in day out, how many time can one tolerate?

But think about it, for the cases you highlighted, whether you get angry or not, it will happen. So why get yourself upset and all heated up? Life is stressful enough, we should learn to let go when possible
Rezorn86 3rd Gear September 28, 2011 Share September 28, 2011 (edited) maybe we shld ask web master to open a column name as "Taxi To Watchout", so we as a driver can "siam" all this dangerous/brainless driver... Why put 2 lives in the line for an unknown stranger? OT a bit, Am I the only one who notice there was an accident on the slip road you passed? It seemed like a taxi has rear-ended a silver sedan... Safety are to be practice and courtesy are to be shown but the bottom line is not to do a lane change at the expense of slowing down cars who are in the particular lane. It is such inconsiderate lane cutting that gets on people's nerves. And yes, driving with care and basic courtesy makes driving more enjoyable.
