Ladykillerz 4th Gear September 22, 2011 Share September 22, 2011 As above. New tyre size same as the old one. Any expert can explain? wear new shows, of course your car is happy mah! so happy that your car want to play(run) more and forget to drink! joke aside. i guess your old tyres are either "botak" or insufficient pressure and thus, there is somehow drag that caused more horses to move. if it is related to the pressure, do at least monthly check else the new ones will also be the same after some time. Happily1986 bro is right. drive safely till your tyres are properly seasoned. cheers.

I am not sure its due to tyre diameter. Old one worn out. Smaller diameter. New tyre diameter slightly larger than the old one cos its new.

Less friction, higher effort on the part of the car to generate the same force against the road.

Tinydog Clutched September 23, 2011 Share September 23, 2011 Sorry to hijack. izzit effective to pump front tyres higher pressure than the rear tyres? high fuel consumption? Hi, front tyres are usually pumped higher pressure than rear due to the weight of the engine. too low a pressure will increase fuel consumption due to larger contact area/resistance with ground. but pump too high and u get a safety issue. Follow manual guideline... Cheers.
Dldm Neutral Newbie September 23, 2011 Share September 23, 2011 cos new tyre is 99.999% rounded. after sometime become 99.9, then become 99. tats y u need to rotate n balance ur tyres often. but as tyre botak, more surface will contact the ground is another reason due to the moulding concepts, tis 1 contribute abit too. F2006 Neutral Newbie September 23, 2011 Share September 23, 2011 As above. New tyre size same as the old one. Any expert can explain? "fuel saving tyres" like Michellin XM1 or Bridgestone Earth does have an effect on FC due to it's low rolling resistance. When i changed from performance directional tyres to XM1, i have improved FC of about 10% consistently.
