You are right. I agree with all your points.

I wouldn't buy a B&R myself, but that shouldn't stop me from recommending it as a choice for a 21 year old newbie to watches.

I think it fits his profile well at that price range and it can be a talking point among his friends and stir up further reading and appreciation into the world of watches.

Give chance to young brands lah. Even the Daytona used to run the El Primero at first, which is not theirs.

But good to see another watch enthusiast here! :)

I am a B&R owner in his late twenties.

First I don't think it is all that recognizable a brand notwithstanding the fact that it has been up and coming for quite a few years now. So I wouldn't consider it a prestigious watch. And I am not particularly concerned about its lack of heritage and outsourced movement (both of which I was aware of when I paid what is a princely sum for me for the watch). At the end of the day, I don't buy a watch for investment or because of enthusiasm about watches. I buy it because I like how it looks on my wrist; same for every other watch I am lusting after. That is why (for now) there won't be any rolexes or dress watches for me. They are just scream yuppie or professional or upstart when someone my age is wearing them.

Piaget Polo.. nuthing special... just tt i like it....

saw it on a magazine... think its a piaget polo forty five chronograph ...

think too ex for me... [bigcry]

i post my G shock ai mai?

Aiya, to me value is not about price, a G shock that been though thick and thin with you is worth more than an expensive watch you keep in a winder but never use...I also eyeing the patek

Nautilus cos it's in ss and looks like can withstand rough actions

Neutral Newbie

Recently bought an IWC Portofino Vintage.

Was struggling between an Jaeger at the same price range (low 10s).

Salesman told me the jaeger was more upclass as a brand but the face was too small for my liking.

Hope is not a bad move to get the iwc?

yeah, Cartier and Chopard good choice for ladies.

very elegant. not rough like Rolex.

but Rolex good for housewives, it is very tough, can wear it like a gshock.

wash clothes do house chores, etc etc..

no problem

Whatever rocks your boat bro and i'm glad you made your choice.

Yuppie? I'd think U Boat or B&R class of watches scream more yuppie than a established brand with as rich a heritage as Rolex.
