And of course many people out here will say, u kuku, big ego bla bla bla bli bli bli. He went across the bloody whole chevron, I was anticipating the driver to cut in and yet was expecting him to stop.

I drive a very small car. Fast stopping and braking are relatively easy (no need be skillful).

In fact I was expecting to get flamed by posting the video. So can see replies of MCF bros out there hahaha. Interesting..was wondering if it happens to one of u guys how will u react?

some mcf dont own car or took license but they will talk trash anyway ,

its not easy to jam brake not becos car cant but due to wear & tear

, once i even had to evade sudden jam knowing rear swift at >90kmh will not make the brake

I am not going to flame you but you have to think.

If you wanted to change lanes and everytime you signaled

an idiot will accelerate and cut you off,

will that not make your driving more stressful?

If it does then please just release the accelerator

when you see someone signal.

:D

Yup I know he was going to cut in. Just wanna go really close to him to see the driver and give a good #%^*. I can last min brake because I know my car in and out. Would u guys say the same thing if it happened to u? The reason I put stressful is because, we have to look out for taxi (if u have seen my previous video).

And uploading to net is to share different driving habits of SG drivers.

From what I see, it is clear that the van realize he miss the turn and tried to cut in across the chevron (ie. honest mistake, not purposely). He could have waited for the road to be clear but he may not have a clear view of the road from his angle (vans are not like cars with windows all round).

He is not right to do so but if he do it safely, nobody gets affected or endangered and life goes on.

If you understood his situation (ie. missed turn, obscured view), you could have been more graceful to let him in instead of insisting your right of way since you have ample time. That way, everybody gets home safely.

Stressful to drive in SG? Try Bangkok or China. They have unwritten rules which I can't comprehend but it works.

The reason life is stressful in Sg is that

Not that people don't know

Not that people never tell them

Its just that people never admit

they are wrong and change for the better.

Even when people are wrong they will

stick to their guns and keep saying are right.

Especially road hoggers and people that never

give way.

:D

Bro WTF,

Don't get stress over it, today yahoo news stated that our self claiming smart guavament disclosure was strangely late, with boldly exposed such sensitive issues in full details to the Leepublic of S'pore.

If you and me thinks "nothing wrong" so far with GDP growth, then how come they are so slow to inform our public ?

My stress driving in Singapore is.... I've paid fully to owned my car, but in 10 years expiry term, some one force/"rob" my car away and makes me to buy another car ! [bigcry]

I reckon owning a car in Singapore is not only taking a big percentage of yr income but also cause alot of stress due to very few good and reliable workshops available. The other cause is lack of skill mechanics with sufficient knowledge of troubleshooting and good service PR. With poor remunerations couple with not-so- idea working environment, , logically there is no way to attract well trained mechanics to stay in this industry.

You making yourself look more silly the more you post.

And instead of creeping out the driver had accelerated hard to get in front of you then no matter how well you know your car you would've banged into him.

Huh? I got get what you mean bro

the van should have just taken the next exit even if he was unfamiliar with the road. Thats not an excuse for cutting across the whole chevron. It happens all the time though, so best to be defensive with our driving also.

I like the way you put it and agree with what i read:

Small light car is easy to control especially you are used to it, but still, must give some allowance.... i like Copen and hope to see more and not less of it on the road :D

In a thread like this, can see who are the jiak ba bo dai ji flamers.... but some posts give good advice except in the not so nice tones...

[:)] Enjoy your Copen!

Hey I really hope to meet some of the MCF drivers on the roads becos most of you say must give way..so far all the drivers I met on the roads dont give way and dont practise 'defensive' and anticipatory driving..so where are all the nice generous MCF drivers? I dont see any gracious drivers..

In real life situation, I guess some mercedes or BMW big towkays would have already blasted his horn sky high and loud loud at this poor van driver...

I drove in china for two years and it's ok, drivers there understand each other.

I understand your point of view, always I give way when driving. An so called honest mistake can cause a death of a biker on the road, and yes I ride too. Now if that honest mistake caused by that driver cause death of your kin/friend, will u still say its a honest mistake?

If he miss a turn he can jolly well exit balestier it's not far. Unlike Malaysia or china highways of u miss a turn u are screwed.

Thats why driving an old-school car can be less stressed coz the owner can DIY maintenance and some repairs.... new cars are too hi-tech for diy :D

Like what puluvcat said, you can always anticipate others actions to make driving less stressful.

It is wrong for the van driver to cut in like this but 2 wrongs doesn't make 1 right.

At that angle, you are already in the van's blindspot. No matter how you highbeam, the van driver had already committed to "taking" the lane.

If one is more "fierce" than you, live and let live. If one is less fierce than you, you wouldnt even to bother to upload videos. Only people with ego problems will do such things uploading to the net.

its phluvcat dun anyhow change my nick...the next time it may become puborluvcat.

yah at merging lanes especially, the blindspot is especially wide as the chevron is there in place of the lane and when you think no car there and start switching, if you get what I mean. It comes from experience and a couple of near misses and this I would like to share with everybody. Better to properly turn the head and look out and better to only change lane when at proper lane markings, unless traffic is slow and you have ample time to react.

Anyway, whatever you do avoid any contact no matter who is wrong or right. Going to workshop, write statement and whatever is what I call stressful and time wasting and it takes away time from family and work.

yeah a lot of times just have to leave your ego in the back seat.

Fully agree with turning the head back to check, i try to do it every time before merging ....... but quickly turn back and look forward else I may hit the front car which slow down suddenly... :o
