My NS buddy was the fittest, & maintence his fitness ( I think was IPPT gold all the way), unlike many of us that went pear shape. No smoking & little alchahol. One day, he just fainted in this office, & thats it.

No tell tale signs at all. He was barely 30 also. Everyone was shock, no one can explain. Thats was least year.

After that , I told myself, nothing is predictable, & not let your fear & concern, as well as petty things get in the way of what you wanted in life. I also stop chasing after material wealth & compare with others. I started a healther lifestyle, & revive my childhood dream of living a simple life, in a small town, & relax lifestyle. The lakehouse by ice cap mountain in my childhood dream is a long shot, but other than that, things are going quite fine.

And importantly for everyone of us, is to show more care & love to your close family members. Even simple things liek help out in house chore, cook a simple meal for them, or bring out your parents for an outing, or meal. Not everyone is rich, but we can always show our love.

Cancer is a 'kinder' death than sudden death. It gives you time to finish some last minute stuff, say goodbyes, come to terms with past knots and also appreciate the good in your life.

For the living caregivers, nothing beats seeing their love one degenerate as a stark reminder of one's own mortality.

Peace and health to all of you!

If you think cancer is a kind way to go, you can't be further from the truth.

Stay healthy is one thing.

But the chemicals we eat everyday....also our genes makeup....also our work.....really can only say try to stay alive and healthy.

Cancer.....cannot predict one.

Try identify and reduce the sugar in the blood. It is one catalyst that promote cancer if out of control. Under control we become sumo wrestlers. [:p]

Low blood sugar can faint, depending on individual's threshold :o

was she a smoker? i understand a minority will suffer lung cancer even though they r not smoker.

u guys may want to try taking chlorella and spirullina supplement. chlorella is supposed to be good in minimising risk of cancer, spirullina in flushing out toxin.

i buy from iherb.com ... based on US, it offers affordable supplements and price is very cheap compare to sg here.

use my referral code VUK879 for $5 for first timer if u r keen. hmm hope i m not given yellow card for advertising...im just giving bros here an opportunity to get cheaper supplements online.

Not necessary have to be a smoker (of course the chance is higher if smoker).

My friend's mom, not smoker, also died because of lung cancer. Her husband is a smoker.

My condolences. And yes life is indeed unperdictable.

After my coma in 2003, that left the Drs giving up on me, it is indeed a miracle thta I am still posting here. KArter and some folks, even Gad can vouch that they close to giving me pek kim......

But, well, I am still here, and there is definitley a reason i am alive. someone up there or down there duwan me yet. Thus, am here living life and to do what I am called to do.

Peace all, and yes, treat each day as it is your very last

Like what the TS said, life is really unpredictable so cherish it while you can.

You can never tell what will happen next, be it a good news that you get promoted (well, some dreads it [laugh] ) or a absolutely devastating one... [:(]

Do not ever take things for granted especially the loved ones close to you.

I took my father for granted and regrets till this day after he passed on because of cancer almost a decade back.

This was a man who sacrificed everything to provide for his family and in the eyes of my relatives the best man my mum was lucky to be married to.

Ever saw this signature by a MCF bro & think it is most appropriate to quote it here:

树欲静而风不止,子欲养而亲不待

The first part of the sentence describes that of a tree wishing to be left alone but the wind would not relent while the second part goes on to describe the children wanting to take good care of their parents but they aren't around anymore... [:(]

I kind of disagree. My experience was that those sudden death like cardiac arrest, the family and frens dun take it well at the initial stage. But after a while, they will realize the person in fact passed away "peacefully"

As for pple who died of cancer,it's not only the family who suffers, the person who suffered cancer was in fact carrying his pain all the way till his/her death. It's juz dreadful to see a love ones to go this way.

And I do believe, most pple would choose to die in the sleep without any suffering.

Juz my 2 cts.
