After my coma in 2003, that left the Drs giving up on me, it is indeed a miracle thta I am still posting here. KArter and some folks, even Gad can vouch that they close to giving me pek kim...... But, well, I am still here, and there is definitley a reason i am alive. someone up there or down there duwan me yet. Thus, am here living life and to do what I am called to do. Thanks, The first part of the sentence describes that of a tree wishing to be left alone but the wind would not relent while the second part goes on to describe the children wanting to take good care of their parents but they aren't around anymore. He's only in early forties, was a maralton runner and even a part-time boxer during his younger days. Non smoker, non-drinker. i remember he even eats fish soup for lunch everyday...........the fittest & healthiest person i know. Within 8 months of the Cancer dino, he's gone...........just like that. On the other hand, there is this old man begging for food & money around our office eating place. Smoke with spare thrown cigs. Should be in the late fifities. Peace all, and yes, treat each day as it is your very last I read this book on transendance....something about belief.....this guy lost all neurological functions but managed to regain them back and is now someone successful....and even my uncle who had terminal cancer and told me to believe in god.....I wonder if God is the one who deals us our fate.... Sabbie Clutched February 10, 2012 Share February 10, 2012 I kind of disagree.My experience was that those sudden death like cardiac arrest,the family and frens dun take it well at the initial stage.But after a while,they will realize the person in fact passed away "peacefully" As for pple who died of cancer,it's not only the family who suffers,the person who suffered cancer was in fact carrying his pain all the way till his/her death.It's juz dreadful to see a love ones to go this way. And I do believe,most pple would choose to die in the sleep without any suffering. Juz my 2 cts. I agree, cancer is really a long drawn and painful affair, plus the medical costs can kill you, it may be better to have a quick death, and time can eventually heal the grief..... Elmo 4th Gear February 10, 2012 Share February 10, 2012 Pardon my poor choice of word - 'kinder'. It was not meant to say that cancer is a kind death. I was trying to highlight that between the 2, cancer allows more time for the dying to complete some unfinished business. Personally I lost 2 family members to cancer and both had wished for a quick end, especially in the final days when they are just struggling to breathe and semi-conscious from the morphine. But 1 thing in common between these 2 family members is that they are relieved that could give some final instructions so they can go knowing that we won't squabble over stuff. One of them even insisted on completing his last piece of customer order and to personally return all other deposits he had collected. We also managed to bring him to accept Christ while he was undergoing treatment and it brought peace to us knowing he is in a better place. I would also prefer to die in my sleep but I could still opt for more time if I had some unfinished business, though I may 'regret' the delay when the pain starts. For the surviving loved ones, all will heal differently and the experience of a sudden vs drawn-out death will leave different scars on them. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...

Thier faces and look when i suddenly appear at home is very heart-warming and priceless. Usually we'll end up at the swimming pool.........they love to play water and thereafter McD or KFC. i love the simple things in life. agreed. It gives you time to finish some last minute stuff, say goodbyes, come to terms with past knots and also appreciate the good in your life. For the living caregivers, nothing beats seeing their love one degenerate as a stark reminder of one's own mortality. Peace and health to all of you! I beg to differ. Cancer sucks you up slowly & painfully. It's a dreadful journey for both patient & family. If I can choose, I would want to go quickly. I really envy my wife's grandma who died in her sleep without much suffering at a ripe old age of 90. Though the family is devastated, it was only a relatively short period. They do not have to go through the torture of seeing her life seep away. She must have accumulated lots of good karma. Just have cherish whatever happiness we have now & not get affected small issues. Then when the time comes, just go without any regrets. Link to post Share on other sites More sharing options...
