Jag's XF and XJ are good looking cars as well. And they really upped their reliability. Still don't see them as often as the bnb Audi, BMW and Merc. So many other factors come into play I think. But yea... when buying cars, most buyers first consideration is how it looks outside, then sit inside and poke the interior. Then check rear seat space, boot space etc.

Only then look at SE for test drive. Not always necessarily in this order...

I'm a fanboy of only 1 brand :) whether computers, cameras etc., there's only 1 brand that I bought twice based on looks... Alfa... there's just something about an Alfa.

But you have an Audi as your avatar picture...

By the way, I will not buy a car that I can't stand the looks. That explain why I did not buy the evo x, or tempted to buy the GT-R.

Lambo is another scale, like but no money to buy. But having said that, I never have a car that is really a looker. [:(]

I was attracted to its interior. very important to me :)

My seating position makes it hard for me to see the top part of speedo & rev counter.

Until someone told me that rev needle once at 12' o'clock = redline.

My shifts are getting better & better...

Then I go round the car to spot the attention to details...

Some are crap but others will blow your mind away (compared cars this age).

Car buying very emotional decision right... so looks play a very big role for me. Even though its subjective, some designs stand out for me over time;

all Alfa's

Lancia Stratos

Some old Jags like (obviously) the E-type and the stately XJ. Also the new XJ and XF

Range Defender

Jeep Wrangler

Lambo Miura and Countach

Audi Quattro

Merc 300SL and the new CLS

BMW 8-series E31 and the Z8

Chevy Camaro

Ford GT40 and the Mustang fastback from Bullitt

This is stuff of the top of my head.... I'm sure there are others.

i like the feeling of wanting to steal glances of my car even as i walk away from it after parking.

Still Sirocco I guess. That is a nice car. I like it too. If not for practicality ( I need boot space to ship my own stuff), I would have maybe bought it.

I like that one. Very gangsta feel. Pity the interior and FC. Quite cheap to get 2nd hand though.

wanted to use that as my wedding car in 2006 when it was just launched.. but it was rare that time and when i found one.. the rental was a killer [knife]

ended up using my lady boss' brand new murano.. just as big and rare (at that time) :D

You are shopping around for a car. There is this particular model that suits your budget and needs. Specifications are exactly what you wanted. Only problem is that you don't like the exterior design. It is either too plain or ugly. Would you buy?

For me, it's the Skoda Superb. The car ticks all the right boxes. Full specs, good size, good engine and priced sensibly. But in my opinion, inconceivably ugly. So what would you do?

Ahhhh..... I know of one old and over the hills celeb that drives this car.... Just nice, get the same model and can bond together @ the service centre.....

Till then, can take this bonding beyond just lubbing shoulders..... [laugh]
