Subaru BRZ and Toyota GT86

don't think it's good for daily ride. This type of spork car normally requires high revving and constantly pushing it. Not idea for city traffic nor cruising leisurely.

Definitely not expecting those, just wanna hear from owner how it feels like to use as a daily ride.

Anyone driving this car?

Can share hows the ride especially at Nshw?

Thinking of getting a 2nd hand for some fun.

The BRZ is my DD, surprisingly acceptable not as harsh as I expected (slightly stiffer than my old LegacyGT on Bilsteins). This car drives beautifully on twisty roads, really puts a smile on my face after each twisty road drive. The light weight & high midrange torque makes this car peppy in city driving. The best handling car I have ever driven.

Had 2 NSHW runs to KL, it's alright on the highway, more road noise than my previous ride. I plug the resonator hole with blue tack (easily reversed) to reduce the induction noise during HW cruising so that I can enjoy the sound system (which is not bad). When raining on NSHW need to be more careful at higher speed since the car is light & stock tires are there for "drifting", keep traction control on for safety.

If you're into monitoring the engine, one can buy those cheapo Bluetooth OBD readers from China, and pair it with TorqueBHP app that cost $6. It can monitor many of the sensors, including OIL TEMP!!

is this even proper of the dealer to do this? i seriously doubt an informed buyer would buy from them at all.

This happens on sgcarmart every day. Of course you don't pay the inflated amount. It's just to 'show' the banks or finance company that the car price is that high to qualify for the 60% or 50% loans.

Your try calling that dealer up. Likely the car is already sold.

Very nice car indeed, too bad the price is on the high side. I sat in 86 before the actual launch in Leng Kee. Engine was very bassy due to the fact of boxer engine. But the HU cmi.. they used previous Altis model iirc.

Think now they changed the HU for 2015 series.. anyone can confirm?

I test drove the AT from Borneo. Wasn't too impressed. But maybe I would have been if I had the chance to toss it hard. Or maybe the manual is a lot different.

But anyway, this is one of those cars which is hard to fit into our SG market with ARF and COE.

Just a thought. Between this and the S15 (which is like nearly 20 yrs older), is this car that much better? Given the 20 year difference.

Whoa, how to answer to this kinda old elephant vs dog comparison?

What do you mean which is better? In terms of what? What is the condition of the S15?

You compare your 40yo wife to a 20yo syt? Sure get slap one mah.

Turbocharged vs NA. Old tech vs new. And who is interested in an AT GT86? The manual version already do not generate enough interest.

Think carefully what you want in a car before you ask the question.

Lightweight, rear drive coupe. Same basic formula. I know the S15 is old but I am thinking, if you transported back the 86 to 2001, I would still take the S15.

That's just you. Nobody else will make such comparisons.

it's also just me. I think if comparing driving experience and excitement in local driving restrictions. I'd go for the S15. The feeling is much more raw and provides the adrenaline rush the recent 86/BRZ cannot.

I never call up the dealer lah... just that through the tracking of this particular car, the prices set by the dealer have been regularly increased to the point that it does not make sense now.

So with the inflated price, can I go and say that I know initial listing was $128,800, so I expect them to discount or rebate it for me till that mark or even much lesser?

Hi,

Between the GT86 and sDrive20i, which is a better drive?

I have read on the figures (bhp, torque, trunk size, weight) and i am aware of the various numerical differences. What i do not know, is the driving experience. It would be even better if someone can shed some light on the interior differences.

Think he's talking about the Z4 sDrive20i...

If so, the 86 and Z4 are still in different classes...

Sorry, i was referring to the Z4.

Your 370Z is also an option right now. :)

Different class because the Z4 is a true, sporty 2-seater?
