By the way does the new Sylphy come with:

1) Car locator/finder alarm?

2) Auto lock with engine starts with all door closed?

3) Auto unlock with engine off?

Thanks.

1) Unlikely to be fitted for Japanese made Thailand assemble vehicles, unless it is 2.0l and above there will be possible. But if u wanna install it also can.

2) For most of the car are standard features when u step on the accelerator or the brake ur vehicles, unless car that are rented from non-agent.

3) Same as number 2. just that no need to step on the accelerator or brake.

For other user, correct my mistake if im wrong.

[laugh] Why u need these simple things to complicate life?

I have all these features in my car, but I disable them all.

1. Keyless entry already known issue for battery sucking. Why install another thing?

2. This works after car has moved off. Personally, I prefer to leave it unlock for safety sake. For MY travel, manual lock once you get into the car. This is safer vs auto locking after car has moved off.

3. Again, for safety sake, prefer to manual unlock for rear passengers. For front passenger and driver side doors, just pull the lever will inactivate lock. Anyway, to get out of the car you still need to pull the lever right?

How is driving with unlock doors safer?

How is driving with unlock doors safer?

It's a double-edged sword. I find it unnecessary in Singapore.

Touch wood, should accident or anything happen and you are unable to get out from your car, at least someone may be able to assist you from outside.

Neutral Newbie

Hi anybody driving a Sylphy 2013 1.8L ? I am driving one right now and wants to get some feedback from current owners. I can feel a lot of vibration on the inital rev from stationary position or from a slow speed. It seems unusual to me. In addition, as I approach a downslope, I feel a pulling sensation from the car as it tries to bring down the speed as quickly as possible. I used to drive the 2.0 L Syphy and it doesnt have such problems. If the rest of you do not have this problem, I will bring this up to TC and get them to check. Or if you had this problem and have solved it, I would also like to hear from you.

Thank You and I would appreciate it if actual owners could reply.

Even though I drove a 1.6L also had the same problems with what you stated. My guess is that the CVT transmission is the one causing the vibrations on stationary to moving off but I don't mind about the engine break effect which is a good safety option & less straining on brakes.

Hi,

I'm thinking if it was worth to get the 1.8 version? Difference of $13k.

What was the main difference actually?

Tks

I just visited the show room yesterday.

1.8L got 17" BBS rim. back seat got arm rest.

1.6L only 16" rim. back seat no arm rest.

The main difference is in the wood trim. The wood is from the amazon forest and the lacquer is from the resinous secretion of the trees of India. LoL...

Prease go and learn how to compare and see the diff yourself in sgcarmart.

Have been driving this car and I read in other forum... It is the charteristic of this adv xtronic CVT. Been playing ard this car. There a few fun thing about the car.

1) from stop, when u step lightly, the car will move off slowly and steadily. No jerk

2) from stop, u press fast and harder, Ur car will pick up faster and the rpm will keep rising. Most of the time I able to over take other car from red light

3) from very slow speed like < 10km/hr, once u step on accelerator... The jerking part come in. It feels like the CVT is change speed to in according... Not sure if there are firmware upgrade on this.

4) from high speed, anything > 50-60km/hr, u step hard or fast oso not use unless u are in sport mode. So in highway, in order to change lane and over take ppl in highway fast, just press sport mode button will do.

One interesting thing about this car is when ugo up slope. The rpm will increase automatically to match Ur current car speed

Hope this exp explain the car characteristics base on my exp.

Same here. That's why I check Nissan website for GB used.

If using 6at above, this is a car I will shortlist for a test drive.

no choice, we have to use to CVT, nowadays most Japanese automakers equip CVT at their mainstream GB, even Subaru WRX also c/w CVT, maybe sooner or later Conti also follow this trend,

tot nowadays CVT tech improvement a lot compare to old dated?

if it using 6MT, I will immediately trade in my existing car to buy one :D
