In the US, most gas stations only have RON91 to 93 leh... My friend's Corvette (C6) only requires RON91, but he always pumps RON93. So far, nothing is wrong with his car leh..

Is USA less developed than Singapore? [hur]

dumb tats for older cars . how old is ur friend corvette . either that ur friend is dumb to pump lower octane tat is meant for his car . dont be dumb . [smash] .

Wah...dunno pumping petrol also can get so complicated!!! Pardon me for my stupidity, been driving cars for long time, always thought that

higher number fuel = cleaner fuel = new cars

lower number fuel = slightly unpure = older cars,etc... [:p]

i tell you the higher ron you pump the better the millage, who's with me?

tested on 2 cars, both same effect.

i don't travel much and i pump around 300 liters per month.

yup i agree....Shell 98 gave me ard 50km more than 95....

n i find slightly better to drive with 98..

i dunno what technical stuff that goes into the petrol

What i do know is there are 2 differences that my butt can feel, between 95 and 98

1. 98 gives a slight better FC. Not much though, max 50km-80km.

2. 98 gives a smoother engine ride and lesser noise. It does NOT mean more power. It's just smoother ride. Some ppl think smoother ride means more power. [laugh]

So based on these 2 observations i have made, you guys go decide whether worth paying the extra $$ for 98 or not.

For me, i used 95 most of the time. I will use 98 once a blue moon, when petrol price goes down.

My car recommended min 95. CVTF gear.

Prius compression ratio 13:1, in the manual, it states avoid using anything more than 92 or risk damaging the engine. I'm rather worried for Msian driving Prius as they don't have RON 92.

I think Prius is the answer to dirty fuel and aroma exhaust.

Are you sure you read correctly ?

The Prius manual here say otherwise

higher ron are for cars with low compression(forced induction) and high compression(NA) cars.

i think compression between 9.5-11(or below 11) still can pump lower Ron.

Diff cars have diff reactions, I think, due to diff compression, gearbox, engine valves, diff engine oils, etc

While many drivers swear by MY petrol, my cae just cannot accept it coz it gives a very high FC everytime I pump MY petrol. No bluffing
