Ahtong 1st Gear September 14, 2012 Share September 14, 2012 Poor tree. I am sure the driver is usually very safety and never speed A car crashed into a three on a road divider along Jurong West at about 8.55pm yesterday (Sep 13) after apparently being involved in a race with two other cars. STOMPer Vincent, who witnessed the incident while he was jogging along Brickland Road, said: "I was jogging along Brickland Road on at 8.55pm yesterday (Sep 13) when I saw three cars participating in illegal racing. "Just after the curve, the winning car lost control and crashes into a tree at the centre divider, breaking it and swinging 180 degree, hitting another tree. "Both the male drive and female passenger appeared OK." Police said in response to a STOMP query: "Police received a call on 13 Sep at about 8.51pm requesting for assistance along Brickland Road towards Bukit Batok near lamp post 92. "Upon police's arrival, it was established that a car had crashed into a tree. "The driver and the passenger were conveyed conscious to NUH and police investigations are ongoing." ↡ Advertisement

Joajas Neutral Newbie September 14, 2012 Share September 14, 2012 That bend has claimed many cars already, every few months claim one car since the road opened. Not many realize that the bend tightens up about midway through, frequently encounter people coming down from bukit batok road taking on the bend with their mind in sports mode, and then hitting the brakes midway through the bend or eats into another lane. Its not a difficult road to drive on as long as drivers pay attention and dont speed excessively. But after the bend, its really hard to keep to 60km/h for the rest of brickland road. Taxis are hitting over 100km/h along the straight stretch frequently. Anyway, usually after the accident on brickland road, speed traps will be up a few time, but after that the TPs dissapear only to appear during the next accident. The bend somewhere in the middle of brickland road, if you're used to it, can take it safely at around 80-90kmh without much problem..

The_Bear Turbocharged September 14, 2012 Share September 14, 2012 I was thinking the same thing. Did that really have to be established? Maybe after the report from the first responder and careful analysis from the IO. They establised the cause.
