Will you still be responsible/held liable for errors which you made in your previous company?

For example, you designed a structure. And then you left the company. One fine day the structure collapse, causing injuries and damages... Will you still be liable for it?

Yes you will. No such thing as dust off your backside and walk off, no more liability.

Define liable.

Yes u must answer for it in any enquiry.

Damages? Depends cos vicarious liability means company pays damages. The company can sue u though to get back the money.

Jail? Depends on how grave is ur mistake. Losing licence is a greater possibiity meaning ur current job is also at stake.

Even when out of the company ppl will still remember especially the person is an epic failure. Take MBT for example, ppl now damn tulan housing prices/COE are so high, in future they will remind their children or even grandchildren that this the mother's son who started it all. This is liable for life and generations to come. :D

i not so powderful. :D

I'm just considering the difference between professions.

For example, an engineer and accountant. Yes, every job have risks. But surely the consequences of an error by an engineer is higher than an accountant? (and not all engineers are even higher paid than accountants)

I ever see before, ammunition box in army got 2 signatures on the sealing certificate. One is the packer, one is the checker. During discrepancy, even if the people ORD, also called back to investigate or give statement.

So, you're the one whom designed Tokyo Highway Tunnel ? You may seek official advise with Japaness Embassy at Nasim Hill [:(]

Joke aside, I don't think you need to worry about it.. if you are not the Structure PE that had endorsed the safety approval.
