Heard the below incident from my gf:

Her colleague was looking at some DBSS recently and saw a penthouse priced @ 2.5mil. So she went to the bank rep stationed at the showroom to check if she is eligible for a loan based on 12k income. She knew 12k income ceiling is not possible, but just want to see what the reply will be. The bank rep told her, "Miss, 12k ceiling cannot afford it. This penthouse is for rich parents buying for their children."

Really wtf....

This is true if you meet the 12 K income requirement. no bank will led you the money for the lone, even if you are paying 50% deposit.

I'm like too late for the debate, some things I don't understand... I read today in the papers that this 2mio penthouse EC is purchased by some rich old guy for his son. How is this possible? Isn't there a 12k income ceiling imposed??

You found loophole. Oops...

By the way, rich should go for private houses and not take up slot for sandwiched class.

Than developers will have no choice but to slash prices as it is impossible for 12k income ceiling to buy 2 m penthouse EC.

But well.. sigh..

Happen to know something about their transaction...the buyer put down 1.5m cash...to buy the penthouse...the rest leave it to his son to settle...super rich...!

Just imagine developers use this cash rich parents and outbid for building future EC, the price will continue to rise, THan those whose parents not that rich but they income around 10k plus, will be the worst hit. Somewhat khaw should start to see this coming and restrict how much % can be paid by cash to prevent developer to outbid each other for future EC.

Son bought but works for the farder's company.

Wouldn't take a genius to figure out the company payslip will show $11,999/p.m.......or whatever figure depending on the situation. Tink this is what's meant by "flexi-wages". :D

Once again EC looks set for another bench mark for PC pricing, CityLife average Psf is a record for EC.

850psf can be a condo somewhere else, if HDB gonna have a EC in Boon Keng guess wat will be the average Psf?

dude...which part of singapore are u staying? HDB can lease out for 4k? Unless you are staying at super fanastic area like rochor...no tenant in the right mind pay 4k for HDB flat. if you manage to find, do let all of us know.

can but illegal.... there was this owner at my block renting his EM to more than 20 foreigner. Each tenant only $200., so 20 tenant = 4K + liao... but not for long cause I canot stand so many plp waling past n never fail to look into my house every few minutes so I reported to HDB...

how I know there r so many of them in the unit n how much is their rental?? I asked 1 of them and he told me....
