If a drill is too big, get a dremel. But not everyone has a dremel at home. I do have a dremel at home and does wonders.

Hi, I have a leaking tap in my bathroom. Do I need to switch off the water supply before I replace this tap or can I just replace it directly? Anyone?

If you ask this question I think you better get someone who knows what to do.

SInce this is a plumbing thread, appreciate if someone experience the same thing as me. All the mixers in the house, when turn to cold water, the water pressure is fine, but when turn to hot water, the pressure like not there at all. ANyone knows why before I call a plumber? Did a few search on youtube saying it is airlock, but tried rectifying still the same. Thanks

To all those who gave "constructive" advise, thanks. Went into the bathroom with a sharp point and hammer, and virtually ripped the logo. Yes, it came out finally, and I was able to tighten the screw :D . See outcome on attached (sorry...somehow cannot cut and paste here)

Maybe because I was planning to replace it, so I decided to take the gamble.

Just happy that my tap no longer leaks (at least for now) and I managed to save a few dollars. Not so much the money actually. It is the hassle of having to bend down, unscrew all the pipes connected to it, the time effort and sweat top replace the basin tap that puts me off

Moral of the story....perseverance!!!

easiest is to get a union, cut off the leaking portion and install the union.

done.

PVC would be easy but this one is copper painted white 😅

Is that copper or pvc? If you cut it, can the left portion be moved slightly to install either a pvc coupling or brass compression coupling for copper pipe?  That's easy DIY, provided the left side can be moved slightly and you have some basic tools.

The plumber might just solder it if it's copper pipe.  While I may just try cutting a piece of rubber from old inner tire and secure with a hose clip if both sides are not movable, till the whole kitchen is renovated!

It’s copper...yet can have pin hole leak... I hope to be able to find time tomorrow for silicon patch and a ring clamp as temp fix.

I’m now worried about the running pipe high up in the concealed top hung kitchen cabinet... 😅
