am currently using X7.

It is cheap and it behaves cheaply too

time always get reset. always hang by itself. always record in small clip of 10 seconds. and inter clip time out is about 10seconds

I don't have your cam, but my suggestions based on my current china cam:

time got reset cause no battery, try bring home charge fully first.

Record in small clip with big breaks in between may be cause you set motion detection.

sure..but I am still waiting for my micro SD card to arrive first.. Will post thereafter. I am not sure the benchmark between 120 and 160 cause its my first time using.. ;p

Finally I got i up and running. Will post some videos if possible.

Noticed the file size is huge and its in AVI format. 3mins about 450mb

As for quality, for that kind of price I would say not bad.

My kingston has not arrive yet so I bought a Sandisk(ultra) Class 10 16gb. It works fine though for the time being.

I cannot be sure if he is a local based on the way he replied me (ie some words I also cannot make out what he meant) but I do think his after-sales is very good. I gave him 2 thumbs up.

You can call him since he texted you right..

I know this could be a dumb question but how do we know if that usb cable is for charging or for data?

I need a longer USB charging cable and when I plug in mine, it becomes a data storage.

Should be MJpeg embedded in AVI. This format doesn't require fast processor but is huge in size. Can repair file if suddenly no power source or sdcard pulled out. If the camera model has g-sensor, no need to worry if the file is big. Upon impact, it will auto protect the file.

those used for portable harddisk should be good for both as I used it when I brought my GPS home. I try using the normal kind and it doesn't charge the unit..... <_<

Usually usb cables does both. You can try pressing/holding the power button to turn it off, or use a phone usb charger. I believe that even in data storage mode, it's still charging, you can do a test.

not really la... Some USB cable can charge and data sync, some can only charge. Since its purpose is to charge the device all USB should work. [:)]

Android phone use Micro-B, external HDD usually use Mini-B.

Oh. I can post my 120 degree video for us to compare the 160 vs 120 degree views...

Dunno the new X7 is really 160 degree or not... but my 120 degree still not end to end of my front windscreen...

I think only the ITB-100HD covers almost end to end...

Do you guys dismount the car cam in JB when parking, for fear of people smashing your window for it?

Yes pls dismount. Even the suction holder.

I went to Genting and I forgot to detach the GPS suction holder. In the end, the driver windscreen got smashed and things stolen
