I drove the car, 4X4, for 2 weeks while on an overseas trip, it is very spacious. Power is sufficient but not impressive for such a large cc vehicle. Handling is surprisingly good for an SUV. At 250k, there are loads of choice in the market, doubt it will be a volume mover.

This engine & chassis not from Ford,Mazda already long time parted with Ford.

Mz6 and CX-9 are under Ford's CD3. (except for the new SkyActiv ones). Ford's Cyclone V6 is used in the CX-9 and Mz 6 V6. Even though they said it's Mz's platform, it is similar to the ones from Ford. They only rebadged it and tweak it accordingly to Mz's own specifications.

Is this available in S'pore already?? Quite a looker with 3rd row seat.

Car will only be available in some countries from Q1 next year, unlikely for it it to land on our shore anytime in the 1st half of next year.

BTW, this colour make the car very outstanding under indoor lighting conditions.

I like the CX9 too and more so, the new engine: the Skyactiv-G Turbo 2.5.

This engine should set the stage nicely for some upcoming MPS models across the mazda range.

AD say no plans to bring in yet; well they said the same for MX5 much earlier; see what happens?

So just hang in there.

Interior looks quite plush.

Heard it's coming Q3 or 4 this year.

Wait and see ba.

But I guess will not be cheap - am guessing around 180 - 200k.

Maybe if the bring in the premium one with full spec, might even tip the 200k mark.

The Skyactive 2.5 T should be exciting. Can't wait for it's application to the other models in the Mazda range! Hopefully they resurrect the MPS series.

Any update on this model coming to SG in the next half of the year? Looks good! Especially with the 2.5T engine.

Yeah should be very interesting how the AD will position the CX9 this time round.

The current CX9 is a victim of our road Tax and CEVS system. 3.7L with not so great BHP/L performance resulted in CX9 being a car that is rarer than maseratis and ferraris locally.

I saw my first and only one 2 days ago at Esso petrol station while I was in their carpark facing the pumps while waiting for my CO to do a grocery run. Just happen that a CX7 pulled in and just nice parked adjacent to each other with the butt facing me.

To my amusement (part of the reason why I took notice of the CX9),  the CX7 driver stood behind and between both cars and was staring and making head glances between the 2. The CX9 is that rare. [:p]

Spoke to the Mazda SE - was told CX9 expected to come in end of the year, but no further details at this stage.

Looks very good and power, handling expected to be class leading for midsized 3 row SUV segment.

Main question is on price point, and types of features they will bring in (or will they try to minimize OMV).

The Australian review is out!

http://www.caradvice.com.au/459605/2016-mazda-cx-9-review/?aoc2

The 2.5T engine seem like a marvel of technology...

The new 2.5-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine offers up a handy 170kW of power at 5000rpm and 420Nm of torque at 2000rpm, and swapping the cogs is a six-speed automatic transmission.

The engine develops its power nicely, revving smoothly from down low in the rev range all the way to the higher reaches if you so desire. It does it’s best work down low, though, and this is where the most efficient motoring will be done.

Good space:

Now just waiting for launch pricing ... let me guess. $170-180K at current COE level.
