Djim 1st Gear April 5, 2013 Share April 5, 2013 durex doing a very bad job no need him to remind us. Just look at the forecast population growth rate of india n china. China is already reaching matureity so their growth is slowing down due to old age like us. India, Sri Lanka, Iran, Palestine & some other south american countries r d few remaining still growing at high speed n young to old ratio still v high. In future, India is forecast to b most populous country, surpassing china, europe n usa. So yes property in Sri lanka has been booming if anyone cares lol

Moredhel 2nd Gear April 5, 2013 Share April 5, 2013 i see the article mentioned TH losing $60b in 8 mths. GIC also abt the same. So total of 24% over that 8 mths. Doesnt look out of place as the mkt also dropped by that range during the same period. So now market is on the way to recovery, not sure if they are making back the same ratio. After diversifying on the markets, they make the bottom of the market? Their investment bankers and anal-lysts need to be shot. I know a few people handing funds and their complaint was that they only made a low-mid single digit % returns on the funds over the last year which was already a bad thing. To shadow the market performance on a 24% loss would get their asses thrown out the door and never see the floor of any investment firm ever again. Moredhel 2nd Gear April 5, 2013 Share April 5, 2013 To remain overseas or to hv balls?? [laugh] I will not answer what seems a provocative insult to our dear leader! How can you even say 'having balls', are you suggesting he doesn't have and should grow a pair? And it doesn't matter whether he is overseas or home, his engine is so efficient that all the govt agencies can and will go on accepting the people's monies in contributions to nation building for the greatness of our country! Please refrain from posting such or get sued!

Bhtan Neutral Newbie April 5, 2013 Share April 5, 2013 MIW tell singapore dont worry cos marjority of money is not in these wall street gambling stock, reits amnd property.. They are in safer investment that earn stable divident ! Two known investment safer type. 1) US Treasury but rate seem to little to cover cpf interest more likely is 2) bonds US, Euro bonds Crypru's Greek euro bond haircut 56% and not end yet but cyrpus's uninsured deposit all bye bye liao ! Hope it's not spain or italy or portual euro bond all of which have higher rates. Lets hope is swiss, germany euro bond which only vanish if worst case entire euro project collapse . Got chance but seems not likely now. Hope also not california stockholm's municipal bond . Cos stockholm just declare bandkrupt to court. Dont worry its non transparent. You will be inform a 300% gain instead . CPF withdrawal age up 90 yrs old , minium sum 400K and GST increase 20%.

Watwheels Supersonic April 5, 2013 Share April 5, 2013 The bad news always attracts the most attention. But how about how much money they had made in the past? Who knows? $600mil to them is probably peanuts.
Kyrios Turbocharged April 5, 2013 Share April 5, 2013 We should have an independent board at CPF. Demanding both GIC and TH to repay all the $$$ back to CPF. Yeah man they can make us go to court for unpaid parking summonses worth only 30 bucks but when they lose 600million..nobody bats an eyelid..seriously what is the role of the elected president and accountability? If I make my company lose a client or 30K I think I face the sack already.. And looks like the article is being reported by some foreign press..straits times will of course mask or not report? ↡ Advertisement
