StefanK Supercharged June 30, 2014 Share June 30, 2014 I just realized even when I'm using Facebook, Google, it pops up too. Die liao. Virus. If you uninstall, reinstall Whatsapp, only your groupchats will be reinstated right? Your PMs will be permanently gone. All your chats will be saved. Just backup conversations in the settings. If you want double the security, send the backup to your email. ↡ Advertisement
Bearyloh 1st Gear June 30, 2014 Share June 30, 2014 on a side note, will be going to Japan for 10 days, anyone could advise on whether is it more practical (mimimise lagging etc) to sign up for the DataRoam (think for Singtel it is $20/day, but it is secondary as primary want to be in touch with family at all times) or buying a local prepaid sim card? Thank you.
Kangadrool Supersonic June 30, 2014 Share June 30, 2014 (edited) cheaper to use local prepaid SIM. SingTel Data Roam (monthly) has a cap which is very very low. If you surf web, not enough. On the other hand, unlimited daily rate $20/day x 10 = $200. That's very ex. on a side note, will be going to Japan for 10 days, anyone could advise on whether is it more practical (mimimise lagging etc) to sign up for the DataRoam (think for Singtel it is $20/day, but it is secondary as primary want to be in touch with family at all times) or buying a local prepaid sim card? Thank you. I went to japan in may 14. read a site and mentioned that i can buy a local data sim over there. but trick is that need to activate. but the thing is that you need another local sim to activate the data sim. only good if you have a jap friend there to help. the store i went to purchase the sim was unable to help and did not want to use his own sim to activate for me. can also activate via public phone but it costs Y2,500 which is ~S$30. there is another route which i did not try which is to pre-order and have it delivered to your hotel. that might work. see link if it helps (the first option in the link did not work for me). http://www.insidekyoto.com/where-to-buy-a-sim-card-in-kyoto

Sp4wn Turbocharged November 6, 2014 Share November 6, 2014 looks like whatsapp was updated today. you will notice 2 blue 'ticks' which signify the other person has read your message. originally it was: 1 grey tick -> message successfully sent 2 grey ticks -> message successfully delivered to recipient phone (but not read) now they have added 2 blue ticks to show it being marked as read. http://blog.en.uptodown.com/whats-blue-double-check-whatsapp/ "Updated (11/05/2014): The latest version of WhatsApp (2.11.43) now officially incorporates this feature, although it may not work on all smartphone models. In other words, a grey check means the message has been sent, two grey checks that it’s been delivered to the recipient, and two blue checks that it’s been read. BabyBlade Internal Moderator November 6, 2014 Share November 6, 2014 I used to think that the last seen feature on whatsapp was important. Now I've deactivated mine and life is so much happier. No longer stalking my friends wondering why haven't they replied me. Do we really need those features anyway?
Sp4wn Turbocharged November 6, 2014 Share November 6, 2014 Thanks for the info :) I never ever realise the meaning of ticks ... aiyo i didnt even know about the blue ticks till my colleague was showing me today.. so i thought might as well save people the google search. lol I used to think that the last seen feature on whatsapp was important.
