I like it when Van Diesel said,"The moral of the Story. Don't buy cars in Singapore."

I like the expression of Michelle Rodriguez when told about the price of a normal 1.6L Nissan Saloon. Plus the comments she make about the price of conti such as Merc C class for the price of Bentley as it make you appreciate it like your pat pat. LOL... Her expression is priceless !!

(edited)

They should also tell the cast how much the person who came up with the car system was paid....and still paying to a new person in charge.

Maybe after hearing they will suffer a concussion. :D

not really, alot of Americans are quite frog in the well.....

my last and current job have me worked with them and when i tell them about the car prices in SG, they got stunned for a few seconds followed by a few minutes of disbelieve then lastly, an hour of me telling more about SG ministers salaries, SG guys doing national service for 2.5 yrs( i belongs to old batch), most 20plus yrs old adults that are still living with parents and lastly how low are our salaries and useless our unions can be.

most times, they will give me an answer if i ever come to Singapore, i want to be a minister in SG govt.

in fact, not only the American are amazed by SG way of running things, you tell that to the Chinese in China, Japanese, Europeans and Middle easterns, almost all of them have the same reactions.....

the only ones are not amazed are those in Asean countries, either they knew it long time ago or simply to poor to own anything.

It is no secret that it is the COE that is killing. it really make Singaporeans look like daft to purchase a 10-year life span car at these prices.

After all, did razor TV inform them about the 10 years life-span of the COE and even the recent car loan tightening policies?

With high COE comes high car prices - your loan will be higher and so will your interest payments. Did people really compute the amount of interests People with owning car aspirations will have to work harder (if he or she does not give up) and as a result stress for everyone. It will have a eventual stress effect on the society as a whole. It is contagious.

I still believe the best compromise is to increase the tax on petrol while doing away with COE and thus making OPC car redundant. Everybody can own a car but do not drive much due to high running cost. Of course it is easier said to be done as it involves a revamp of the entire system.

This is nothing, wait till they hear the Pure Singaporeans ratio vs those outsourced in one then they really stun for at least a few days.

If equivalent COE "tax" is transferred to price of petrol, JB will be inundated with S plate cars.

No way Jose! The authorities will make it into a full tank rule instead, after that, 99% of the new cars on the road will be a Hybrid.
