I think the AD will have to actively promote the cheap BnB cars around Dec13 and Jan14.

But I assume during this period, the Cat.A COE price will be very high due to AD needing to fullfill the current mad rush for conti cars in small car category.

 

So who would be in the right mind to buy BnB cars when packaged with sky high Cat.A price in Dec and Jan period?

 

If Suddenly 50% of Cat.A cars are shifted to Cat.B in Feb2014 and there are not many small car buyers willing to buy during Dec and Jan period.

There may be a miracle happen on the very first Feb2014 bidding cycle for Cat.A, that it will crash to $1.

Yes diesel is cheap but the engine won't last as long as petrol engine. Had been working with all sort of engines before and diesel engine after 5 ~ 6 years, maintenance is ....

 

Fwah, my company's cabstar close to 7yrs. Milleage is 340000 Liao. Replace fuel pump n brake pads n clutch only.

Ehh Uncle...Now a days, the Diesel Engine is so refine, you won't believe your eyes.

Gone are the days of the old diesel engine types.

 

Remember my Caddy TDi...Its still going strong with no problem with engine till now...*TOUCH WOOD*

5 yrs...Only change Engine Oil...& Replace Brake Pads.

 

the old diesels are reliable and cheap to run. not so much the new Euro5. to combat emissions, there are a lot of "extras" to be added like adblue, DPF, turbo charger. all these will wear out and cost $$ to replace. in the end Euro5 diesel WILL be MORE expensive to run.

So when comparing diesel vs petrol cars, you need to look at more than just consumption and special tax.
