Do performance tires really make a difference?

extremely good dry drip, but very poor in wet i believe, i only try the 03G before.

the zii can go track also, if u alway go track, and dun have a 2nd set of track tyres, but u want to performance on track, but yet still drive on normal road,

Thanks for the reply bro.

The thing is, I'm looking to change my current BF Goodrich tires, which are already balding.

I'm fine if my replacement has at least the same amount of grip as them, whereby it's not bad, and quite decent in the wet as well.

I don't go track though, and I don't think I can head there anytime soon, so I'm just looking for a decent set of tires for replacement.

I was also told to consider kumho ku31 or the hankook v12 as replacements.

Any comments?

Thanks.

most ppl when judging and chosing performance tyres, they only consider the performance and grip during dry weather.

but the best dry grip performance tyres around, USUALLY HAVE VERY POOR WET WEATHER PERFORMANCE.

pls take note of this when u chose tyre, esp if u not familar and go tyre shop and ask for best performance tyres, and u walk away with ad08 or r888, then u realise it dun suit u .

Ad08 wet performance is good....have fitted once on my ride with 245 width tyres

No difference with other tyres

i think kumho u wanna take a look at kh 31 instead, ku31 famous for its roaring noise i believe, v12 quite good, but from recent bro posting, it seem hankook dealer serivce drop alot, u see the price offer to u, then compare to other model see can get more branded like good year f1 series (d5 or aysm 2) if price very close.

i persoally tested its my personal review, the wet grip is good only if u compare it to pure track tyres, like re55, i go track i use re55 before, dry grip fanstic, rain come i cannot move at all, but those bro using ad08 still can race,

but if u compare it to a normal performace tyre a normal family man or for my family car on singapore road,

u would compare it to example goodyear aysm2, ( i am using now) i dare to chiong during heavy rain with it ( pls dun try)

when u compare this way, tyres like ad08 r888 fail during raining days in singapore. also the dunlop zii.

re: pls dun flame me, i only trying to discuss and give my best advice :P

Ad08 noise level is bad. Was previously on 245/40/18 all tyres if thats what you mean by 'model'

Not sure what is yr level of 'cheong' but i have tried ad08 in wet at 130kph before and still grips well no swaying although its noisy. Definitely never for the slightest moment had any 'fail' as compared to assy2

What I mean is what other brands of tires you comparing with. this will give us a good indication the noise level.

Eg if you said its noisier than RE-11, I know its going really noisy.

Hi there!

I'm on 195/50/15, and I hoping to look at around $100-$150 for one tire?

Thanks!

with this budget, you can buy really really really good tires. :D

So other than the direzza zii, kumho ku31, and hankook v12 i was highlighting earlier, any other good recommendations?

may you would like to list your requirement here. I am sure many bros here can advice you.

Base one these 3 criteria : noise, comfort and grip. which is your first top priority? which is the least?

Sure.

I'm looking for grip over noise and comfort, as I know one tyre can't have all three.

And I do not need something over my budget like the ad08 where I heard it costs about $200+ for one tire for my 195/50/15 spec.

And possibly a good balance between wet and dry grip? My current bf goodrich gives quite a good balance thats y I'm hoping for a good upgrade.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far!
