Tottenham are reportedly closing in on the double signing Morgan Schneiderlin and Jay Rodriguez for £50m.

£30m from Man Utd, £47m from Pool, £16m from Arsenal.

Southampton is richer by £143m!!!

For Bro Spring:

Barcelonas annual revenue rises 8% from 491m (£389m) to 530m (£420m) for the 13-14 season.

Not sure what is their nett post tax profit though

Ok tks bro O23 for the update! The conspiracy side of me still feel the authorities r bias in favour of the 2 Spanish giants n whilst I do acknowledge their huge revenue, I just feel everything incl the Spanish banks etc are skewed in their favour. Sorry for bringing this up again but I'll take some convincing that all is fair when these 2 r concerned but I guess I'll hv to accept that their books r in order till proven otherwise!

Rumour or true?

www.express.co.uk/sport/football/493234/Man-Utd-Transfer-News-Vidal-AGREES-move-40m-for-Cuadrado-Fellaini-exit

m.eurosport.com/football/premier-league/2011-2012/report-vidal-agrees-47m-united-deal_sto4342592/story.shtml

I will still take it as rumour bro. If deal agreed, you will see on BBC and Guardian too. Italian side still insisted that no bid for Vidal has been received.

Southampton have reportedly turned down Tottenham's £35million approach for Jay Rodriguez and Morgan Schneiderlin.

Looks like the earlier news got the currency wrong again. Anyway, Saints apparently said no this time.

Fantastic news for Evertonians

Everton seem set to sign Romelu Lukaku for £24m

My gut feel is Chelsea will not sell Lukaku despite all the press reports to the contrary. Why? Cos he qualifies as "association trained" and Chelsea only have Cahill and Fabregas as "association trained" when they should have at least 4. Terry is "club trained" and again Chelsea severely lacking there.

For this I give Barca and Real some credit as despite their galactico signings, they still manage to meet this home grown quota unlike che n city!

Not sure about that bro. Lukaku is getting frustrated and I understand Chelsea is willing to sell, but not to top 4. Everton is close and they just have to fend off last minute interest from Wolfsburg.

I would say not Barca or RM is willing to give time to their local players, rather they are pretty lucky to be in Spain where their player groomed from the U18 are generally well better off in England... [grouphug]

Even the German and French are doing a better job than them..

Just take Man U team example, beside the Class 92, how many really make it big and go to WC?

Even Arsenal and Southampton (which is regarded the best grooming grounds in the country) have problem to match the youth quality coming from all these countries... [bounce1][bounce1]

Well said bro!

Think I must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed today to praise Barca n Real so lucky you come in with a good reason for me to attack them again haha!!

Seriously though you are right, England generally not conducive for the English youngsters to thrive and sad to say is one of the main reasons why the National team fares so poorly at each WC!

Some time you may look at their wealth as a whole in the nation..

I feel that generally those poorer or less well off countries, in order for the player to make it big, they have to train hard and perform...

Look at England, wealthy country, where got motivation to work hard.... [thumbsdown]

A player like Rooney is DEMANDING 300k where a German player (WC Winner quality) like Sami Khedira is only asking half the amount to go to Arsenal leh... [furious]

I won't be surprise someone tell me a youth in England is earning double of any youth from other nearby countries...

I think what Spain and Germany did well in regards to their youth is that they have clubs nurturing them and more importantly, these clubs adopt the same playing styles as their national set up, right from the U17 onwards.

That's why you see the core players performing well in clubs and national level.

England on the other hand, does not have this in place. How the national youth teams play depend on the head coaches. Similar to the national team.

That's why, England will always flop on International level regardless how good their players are with their respective clubs. Proven yet and again but they are too proud to acknowledge that the Spanards and Germans are having a better system.

Cavani removed from poster !!

They really need to sell to complete Di Maria signing.

Not sure where he is heading to though

What's you guys take on Cavani??

Can succeed in EPL? Worth the reported 50mil+?

I stated previously in the Pool thread that I thought he's only average.

His strengths are his work rate and unselfishness but for that price I felt he should be close to Suarez class or thereabouts.

Feel Falcao is a better choice...
