I can't help to notice that many potential buyer are comparing MPV of different category, just because of similarity in pricing. MPV are for people that need more space, and so shouldn't the amount of space be one of the top priority (and basis for comparison)?

Hmm this sounds better than what I was told - tks.

But how to mark up the lot leh? On the screen huh? Does the screen show the actual view of the road capture by the camera, or is it just choosing some preset functions of parallel/reverse?

Agree that park assist has specific objectives, but I was trying to find out more about how the park assist works, and the SE just did not have the knowledge of it at all.

I think bro Fat_slayer said can actually mark up what type parking (parallel or reverse) needed and the system can be used? The polite SE didn't tell me about this too [laugh]

You will see an actual bird eye view of the car and the road around you. With that you select which box to use as the system will mark out the available boxes which will switch around when you drive along. Very intelligent. But do note that the car colour on the screen does not change along with your actual car colour lol

Honda unlike Citroen does not allow you to test auto parking. But you can always get the SE to show you how it works.

I like odyssey because of all the safety features. Still may buy it despite the road noise. Btw you can see the auto parking in the 2015 vellfire YouTube video. Very very similar if not identical.

Anyway here is a video of the auto park. Not in English but good enough. See from 4 mins 45 secs onwards to see how the all round camera is used in actual driving and also autoparking.

Hmm how come I cannot add a YouTube link? Done. Add HTTP: on your own

ive not used the autopark yet but rely on the topview cam thing all the time... v useful for tight lots. the rear perpendicular motion detector is also helpful when reversing. u can switch on all the cams n view the ground... useful when parking head in n judging distance from front bumper

sound system is thin & weak, aircon is super cold, FC depends on conditions but can avg above 10kml if driving mostly highway. city no need to say

Could the sound system sound weak because of the poor sound insulation? Do you know of any who did aftermarket on their new odyssey?

I don't remember Outback has a 7 seater version. There are only 2 7 seater in Subaru stable, Exiga (no longer carry by Motor Image) and Tribeca (production ceased since 2013 / 2014).

duno. im not audiophile so its ok quality for me.

The sound system is very typical of jap makes, hollow and no clarity on vocal. My previous 4 cars, all conti sounded very well and i had no intention to upgrade them. My only gripe is that the ody audio system is that it does not support digital radio. 1 thing good is that we can upload our fav picture as wallpaper.

Btw, the on board trip computer is very accurate. My previous 2 tanks shown were down to 0.1 difference from my manual calculation.

Bump up this thread. Elgrand price went up by $2k after the current week COE results.

And others held their prices?

Hmm... they changed price twice in a week? Yesterday I saw 8-seater at $168,800, now SGCarmart is showing $171,800. Before last bidding it was $166,800. So $5k increase all round.

Maybe sales of Elgrand are too good.

I must say that I've seen at least 3 Elgrands alone this week.

I travel only a short distance everyday - like 10 km.

I probably never see any Elgrand in half year previously… (after it was launched, not before).

Buy alphard/vellfire lah.....no need the V6, even the 2.4 vvti engine is responsive enough, prefer this to Elgrand.
