gotten this bad boy also. thought i get it with all the news about cars catching fire and people burning inside.

1kg ABC powder type...about $35 dollars from Qoo10. Local certified seller. Not from China and also not the small aerosol spray type...that type i think can put out matchstick fires nia. haha.

Underneath the driver seat there is a nice recess area to store it. perfect.

I recently made a trip to Port Dickson as well, and managed to clock around 750km on a single tank of V-Power Nitro (pumped in SG), aircon on the whole time, with 4 adults, 2 children, and lots of luggage! Average speed around 110km/h along the NSH (car was heavy and I could feel the engine straining abit at 120km/h). I was very pleased with the performance and comfort the car provided, and also the price of Shell V-power Racing in MY (RM$2.90/litre [nod] ) so pleased that I made another trip to Malacca shortly after that hehe! Again I was able to clock more than 700km on my one tank of V-power Nitro, but this time I was carrying less weight and was able to run alot faster along the NSH, around 120-130km/h, without straining the engine. I must say the car's stability and noise levels at high speeds is impressive to a big-car newbie like me, and it dispelled any thoughts that the car's advertised FC of 15km/l is rubbish. So for those who are still wondering about this car's FC, doubt no more cos it's the real deal!  :a-happy:

Oh, and I don't think I'll be switching back to Esso 95 anytime soon, as the performance and FC from V-power Nitro (or Racing) and the price across the causeway is too good to miss! However, I recently drove in to JB for some makan and massage at KSL and found out the hard way that the Shell petrol station nearby is closed for renovation, so do pump at the one just after the customs checkpoint as there are no other Shell stations along the way back to the customs checkpoint...wasted opportunity to pump full tank as I went in with less than a quarter tank...  [bigcry]

Have you gotten your FC on mix city and highway drive on V-power Nitro/Racing?

I would try V-Power Racing next trip up north.... been only using VPower 97....and in SG only...SPC 95...

Petron in Malaysia just launched Ron100....may try it too.....who knows we get 15km/l like what they'd stated...lol

I'm getting around 500km on a full tank of V-Power Nitro, which works out to around 10km/l, not bad for a 2000cc MPV. I've felt an increase in performance ever since I came back from the Port Dickson trip, not sure if its due to reaching 5000km or me unleashing the engine on the NSH hehe!

There is theft prevention system if I remember that's what Mazda called it. It's written in the owner manual in what condition will it activated....some member posted previously here also...

I'd tried that, it works.

Whether or not you need a crime stopper, it's up to you...but, bear in mind that any wire cut will void the warranty, as according to Mazda.

There is not 'auto-lock' function in M5. But, what I found out is the auto sliding door is cannot be opened whenever you put the gear to "D". It's not the same case if the auto door is disabled. The 2 front doors doesn't 'auto-lock' at any condition.

I'm getting 9+ km/l on SPC 95 and I also felt the car performing differently after the 5000km... maybe just the psychology of a new owner... hehehe...

Just collected my ride at noon. Loving it.

The downside was that it received a huge volume of showers of blessing. Hahahha

You upgraded from Honda Jazz?

There is only break in alarm. The salesguy demo to me. Understand it takes a few seconds to arm. when there is forced entry, the horn sounds...really loud.

I would like to hear some feedback from the owners who change from Toyota Wish/ Honda Stream to M5.

Ex Honda Stream owner here. What kind of feedback you want?

The auto door can be activated in "D" if i-Stop kicks in.

How does M5 handling, fc, power compared to Stream?

I test-drove the Wish, I think the power is adequate (for the short test drive session), but, car is noisy. And heard from Wish owner feedback that fc is good.

I have no regret with M5, just wish to find out more for future reference... :)

hmm..thanks for the info on "auto door can be activated in "D" if i-Stop kicks in".... this is something I didn't test out....would be interesting to know what would happened if the door is opened, then engine back up again......safety hazzard?

For me, fc is around the same as my ex Stream. I find that M5's more stable and refined, especially when cruising along the expressway. Power is definitely better than Stream. When comes to cornering, Stream has a slightly better edge due to its lower CG and Civic based low platform. The only thing I missed is the "VTEC just kicked in yo!" feeling of the Stream, although Skyactiv can also be roaring with power above 4000rpm.

When i-Stop is deactivated when the sliding doors are opened, you'll hear the warning beep sounds of the doors being left opened and that's all. You can still close back the doors using the buttons.

Another thing about i-Stop: it'll not activate if your seat belt is not buckled. It also won't activate if your wheels are not straightened.

Thanks Eric. No. I never owned a Honda before. Hahahha

My first ride was a Toyota Altis, then Toyota Wish, then added a Nissan Sylphy (2nd hand). Now M5 (sold Wish with 2 yrs 2 months left) + Nissan Sylphy (Scrapping in Sep-16)

Jazz bcos I love jazz music and samz bcos my name is Samuel hahahhaha.

I find the Toyota cars I owned noisier than the Sylphy. The Sylphy was 5 yrs when I bought it and I find the drive, noise and comfort excellent. Way better than Wish.

Now comparing Wish with M5. Wish held sentimental value to me. I bought this car upon learning wife expecting 2nd child. It served my family well. I drove it like a Celica as it is a Celica engine under the hood and handling I find was not bad for a MPV. M5 just collected and still running in so can't comment much......yet. Hahha

However, my first day of driving the M5, power seems better, gear transition is smoother, steering heavier, comfort better, quietness better (Sylphy win a little bit but considering it has a sunroof, it is already very good), space wise better than wish. Hope that helps.

I'm feeling a lot of improvement at my current mileage of 17000km... But I haven't tried using 98.

Have fun!

Drove on Msia highway today. floored the accelerator on some stretches to see how M5 perform. Car is amazingly planted, no floating, no shaking and the engine felt like it can go on and on. Never drove so fast before....hehe.

stock remote won't be able to do it...you will need a third party product to do that..... is warranty your concern?
