No need heart pain .... It the dealer's game.... at end of the day, Govt and the dealer still squeeze you.. Some of us need a big car to move around with big family and kids... taxi is not possible for me with 3 kids and 2 adults .... public transport arent that reliable. When I got the car in June 2015, the COE was $75k and car cost $125k ... dont expect the car price to drop by $35k!!! Just dont think too much about it. unnecessary misery.... enjoy the car .. cheers!!!

Totally agreed....

Your car price is 125k with COE 75k and mine is 119k with COE 62k (the bid before is 58k).

Now, 104k with COE est. 38-39k???

it's always the dealer's game..when COE down, they said...COE will be up next round...so..we don't decrease so much...

then, when COE is going up, they'll increase more than the COE increment b'cos the next round likely to be up further....

On the other hand, if you bid your own COE, you are likely facing higher car price, if you're entertained by the SE, with lesser goodies...

we (consumer) are always on the losing end...

So, buy within your means....prepare yourself how much you going to lose before signing on the dot....

Hi All,

Any feedback here on installing aftermarket car video recorders or upgrade of I.C.E and Mazda will void warranty?

According to Mazda SG,as long as there is original wire being cut, the warranty is void.

After driving the car for 5-6 months.

What i like:

1) sliding door

2) Car handling

3) stable at high speed

4) comfort n noise insulation

What i dislike:

1) fc not as fantastic as claimed. Getting 10-11/litre despite using its award wining skyactiv engine.

2) lack of power for overtaking and hill climb

3) engine not s refine compared to the cars i drove.

(Example: golf sport, altis, civic 2.0)

To me point 2 n 3 is the killer for dislike.

Kinda dislike the engine.

bro...no offence but i suspect its more of the driver rather than the car...haha..

my FC is ok...for a 2.0L car, i am averaging about 12km/l....take some practice tho..

overtaking?...i think more than adequate,...even in auto D mode...just have to step on the accelerator more la bro...M5 is not exactly light...if really want to have tight overtaking, switch to manual and downshift the gear,...same for climbing hill...although i have not done any 'hill climbing' on the M5..so far i have little or no problems overtaking...i used to be tailgated when i drove on Msia highways last time in my 1.5L car,.....these days, i become the tailgater..haha..,..but most of the time, i just overtake the cars...and mind you some of them drive crazily fast and very intimidating especially those pick up trucks...

the engine roars at start to warm up,..albeit for a few seconds....good to scare those sleeping cats underneath...haha...other than that, i find it very quiet....golf sport and civic 2.0?....bro cannot compare la..those are for cheonging one...now we family men must mellow down a bit..

cheers.

i am inclined to believe many of the bros here who bought M5 have stable jobs with decent to good pay...so should be fairly unfazed financially by the monetary loss from the drop in COE..or putting it bluntly,..wont jump down even when COE goes to ZERO la....a couple month's of work should be able to make back the 'loss'. For me, i am just hooting the car number...hopefully can strike and restore my financial mental state.. :a-bang:

oh ya...GONG XI FA CAI everyone.

I remembered signed a paper on the acknowledgement of their warranty clause which seems to be pretty strict.

I also noticed that in their 40K servicing schedule, ATF is not renew but only inspect. [confused]  [confused]  [confused]

Is this true for all Mazda owners here?

IMO, how can ATF last so long without renewing?

Haha bro u r right la. To each driver . My dad aso say. Mpv. What type of overtaking you want. Haha and you are right. Cannot compare to sport engine like the golf sports n civc 2.0. Haha i think getting 12km/l here is just a handful. Mostly are still 10-11km/litre: only managed to attain once 12 which i think the pump attendent pump more tt day? Haha

yep bro. no typo la. haha...on days when i am light footed and driving mainly highways, can really hit below 8L per 100km also. but my average is still around 8.3L per 100km..which works out to be exactly 12km/l...

the sweet spot for M5 is upwards of 60km/hr where it consumes the least petrol..anything below that and the engine is just dragging the car's weight...

in any case, i visit JB quite regularly and pump RON97....half tank is like SDG22 nett....so really no actual need to do extensive hypermiling..hehe.

cheers.

Bro my advice is no point doing it now since your car has already so many nicks and dings, unless you want to respray first. PPS is also not foolproof against such impacts. Mine has PPS but still got some dings from idiots opening their doors and banging into mine. The only good thing about PPS is the car won't get dirty so easily and the smoothness last much longer than a normal polish.

Hi bro,...can i know what type of PPS you did for your car and the price.

i checked with certified JB ceramic pro guys recently for M5...

basic package (3 layers ceramic pro 9H) start at SGD930+...3 years warranty...include nano polish, interior coating and all...1 day job..

6 layers SGD1600...all the way to

their highest end package (10 layers coating) about SGD2,300...lifetime warranty...2 days job...bummer.

Bro, I did mine at New Age Polish. Price was around $870. 3 years warranty also. Refer to his post here:

is it useful this polishing thing?? I thought every 6 months send to car groom outlet do polish & wax can already?

Normal polish and wax will wear out quite fast due to rain and sunshine. PPS will be more lasting as it bonds to the paint and gives a more lasting shine. It makes washing the car easier also as dirt comes off easily. In fact, the car will look cleaner after a rain compared to one which doesn't have PPS due to the hydrophobic qualities of the PPS.

thats why thinking of ceramic pro 9H now....i think currently among the better PPS in the market.

I will most likely go for 3 layers...5 yrs warranty...at least 1 day downtime nia.

will have to schedule it during my holiday in JB..hehe.
