Hi All,

Anyone here on 18" rims on your Mazda 5?

Width & Offset?

225/40/R18 tyres?

Appreciate all inputs. [:)]

Hi Biscuit,

I am running with 18"  x 7.5 Mazda 6 rims with 225/ 40 /R18 tyres. So far so good.

Our Mazda 5 bolt pattern or pcd is 5 x 114.3, hub bore is 67.1 mm and the stock wheel offset is 52.5 mm

When pick on rims, need to take notes of the width of your rim, from 7 - 8 " is fine. i think 8.5 the rims will protrude out a bit.

I think we can run offset on 38 mm up to 55 mm without any issue,

HI Jacklenny, thank you for your info.

I've noticed that 18" Rims with 7.5" width pretty hard to find.

I would love the 8" wide rims, only concern if they will rub the wheel fenders.

With the stock 16" wheels at 6.5" wide, I noticed that the clearance isn't that much.

Hence, not sure to go for 18" or just go for 17" rims with 7.5" wide with 225/45/R17 rubbers.

 Hi Biscuit,

No worry, no rubbing, kindly refer to this websites, tons of information on wheel and rims for our mazda 5, there are ppl even go for 19 inch " ... but i think that is too extreme..

Actually I do have a set of 17" x 7.5J with Offset 42 rims on my current ride.

As my current tyres are 225/50/R17, this also means I need a new set of rubbers 225/45/R17 tyres if I need to use back this wheels on my new white Mazda 5..

Not sure should I just go straight for 18" by trading in the original 16" Mazda 5 rims and my current 17" wheels.

Still have abit of time to decide the final call.

Just booked at $105k. Price for all dealers went up after weekend.

Good day to all proud owners of M5. I am interested in getting M5 also, especially after seeing this discussion thread.

Hi @stkm1234, care to share what is the deal that was offered? You booked your ride with top up guaranteed COE?

Non-guaranteed COE. Additional front and rear in-car camera, 1 yr rd tax and free servicing till 40km.

Honestly speaking, I find the dashboard and interior old and dated, with lots of cheap plastics. Leather seats weren't the best quality and workmanship was poor.

The deal clincher was the double auto sliding doors, the only one in this category of MPVs. Drive was smooth.

My original choice was Kia Carens diesel SX, most value for money with OMV at 24k. but third row was too cramp and it was difficult getting in and out.

Hi!

How's the road noise for the bigger tyres? I'm currently on stock tyres for 1 year and mileage 18000km.  Road noise seems to be getting louder.

Have a great day! Thank you.

Hi Stkm1234,

Congratulation for your new car, Hope you can get your COE this coming bid.

Just beware of  if they want you to top up to guaranteed COE after failing first few round.

Yes, I found OMV of Mazda 5 is very low, less than 20K .....

Hi Jacklenny,

I have been considering sound proofing but does it really help?

Thank you.

Hi,

Road noise for 17" 225 wide tyres are definitely worse than stock 16" 205 wide tyres as their contacts on the road are more.

For me, tyre road noise is not much of a concern.

Importantly is the rubbers must be able to perform in all road conditions. [:)]

Cheers
