i see that it has a deluxe variant now... more airbags?

Hi,

1st post.. let me add some information.

Went to showroom over the weekend and was presented with standard & deluxe package.

The difference of 2k is for

1. leather seats

2. Pioneer Audio systems

There was a promo of 10k that ends on 26th June, and reduce the price to 117888 (deluxe) and 115888 (std) --> all price is 6 bids guarantee I asked for any other discount and receive nothing.

at that price, i'm not feeling it as a good deal...

I think it's highly unlikely you would get as good a deal as those mentioned earlier in this thread. This is taking into account the successive COE increases and the strengthening of the Yen.

I certainly didn't get those deals. :D

Yeaaah - probably you're right. But the current price trend doesn't make Mazda 5 attractive.

They increase the price few times last week - it looks like they're considering that COE will go higher and higher. And to attract the crowd, they'll throw-in the sweetener of 10K reduction (like they did over the weekend).

Check out my attached image and see the difference between their price point and COE.

For the 24th and 25th pricing, you could probably reduce the selling price by 10k by not opting for the freebies (5 yr svc, petrol vouchers, shopping vouchers, 2 yr extended warranty). This makes the final price more reasonable.

Just to add to the topic of : how much is the car worth paying?

I did some quick search and found an article in sgcarmart ( http://www.sgcarmart.com/news/writeup.php?AID=171 ).

It sort of help me to understand roughly how the car price are calculated.

So, assuming the OMV of Mazda 5 is $20K, base on the fomular (from the link), the car price before COE, would be about $46K (give or take $1k or $2k), add on the COE (current ~$57K) and the car would be valued at $103K.

Just sharing.

Cheers.

Actually... that weekend up to 26th June, they do offer the 10k reduction. This include the 2k insurance waiver.

Hence, the 24th and 25th pricing is less 12k.

But still -- they up the price a lot more than the increase in COE for 2nd round.

I would appreciate for those visiting the showroom weekly to share the offer.  [thumbsup]  [thumbsup]

Hi, like to check if anybody is putting 2 baby car seats in the M5?

Is it possible to put one in the rear row? Will there be any safety issues?

Thank you!

My 2nd last post -- after this can only respond one more time.

2 baby car seats at the back topic

  1. I think it's possible, after you moved your middle row to the front.
  2. But, you will have problem in put the seat belts for these kids
  3. the back door of Mazda 5 is strengthen on some area. But if you notice, there's about 30-50 cm gap from the door frame to the seats. That part is required as "impact absorber". The main danger upon collision is actually highest from the side, instead from the back.
  4. Consider to put 1 seat at the back row and another one in the middle row. After that have the middle gap to move between back and forth.

Edit: just realize you're asking only to put 1 seat at the back row..  [:/] silly me! But anyway - i think it fits.

I was just informed "standard" got no leather & no head unit. Ours should belong to deluxe version.

Actually this "standard" quite ok leh. Unlike certain car brand, they only provide "never heard b4" band.
