Hi all, as u all now know I m raising funds to settle the present issue, can u pls help me to look out for buyer for some my stuffs

 

1. Ogawa smartaire massage chair @ $1200 bought at $5288 3.5yrs back. Good working condition, if u intend to buy massage chair, can trade in at least $1500 or more.

 

2. Takasima treadmill tk1000c @ $250, bought 3yrs back at $688. Excellent condition.

 

3. PS 3 $200 perfect condition.

It will not. But the fact is a portion of the loan were taken under my wife's name, if I apply for bankruptcy, it only solve my part of problems. True, looking at the surface,it maybe 70% lighter load, but there r more to it.

 

Firstly, all my bank accs will b closed and the gov will help me to open another 1. When my salary r credited, they will spit the amt between diff banks for the monthly installment, I will b only able to withdraw the remaining part or it. (True it may mean a lower interest & more scheduled repayment though)

 

Next, I will be bounded in Singapore as I will not b able to travel overseas even to m'sia. Frankly speaking, I purchase almost all my groceries & my children milk powder, pampers etc in jb and saved 50% of original, if I have to purchase everything local, my expenses will increase by few hundreds at least.

 

As a bankruptcy, the records stays in for life, in the future even when I cleared my bankruptcy, I can forget getting any loans of whatever type. Therefore looking further, if I needed any property upgrades or downgrades, it seems impossible.

 

My freelance is good for now, but m I going into freelance for life? Frankly speaking which company in Singapore doesn't require u to declare whether u r a bankruptcy? And when the job was open to all, will the boss choose candidate s with clean records or tainted ones.

 

Maybe some of u may think that I m just finding excuses, but the impact is really far from what many thought. Getting a fresh restart with bankruptcy is ever harder in fact from some of the real life stories I know.

 

As such , bankruptcy is not in my options atm, as long as I m able to settle the upcoming legal issues, I should b able to cleared off my debts within 3-4 yrs if things go smoothly. True, though I didn't know if I can pass through all these atm, but I still think it is worth the fight.

If there is a writ of seizure, it will happen before bankruptcy

 

Not many companies will opt seizure unless they know there is very valuable things.. to get a seizure incurr extra costs including hiring someone to oversee the seizure.... not many will spend... the easier route is bankruptcy

 

Garnishee of pay is even harder and not easy to obtain... even then TS is a freelance... how to garnish when nothing is fixed

 

Ts mentioned buying groceries from jb, not sure which mode of transport he is using but if by bus.. I don't see how much he can carry to make it worth his time

 

Debt is only $50k ,he claims there is a few banks....means each bank is only a small sum... don't see why will banks be so harsh...

A lot of pple here have been advising you to declare bankruptcy. As someone who been thru almost to bankruptcy, i would advise you not to.

 

I was being served default 4 years ago. Back then, i chuck up my debt due to gambling, which is really stupid. The amt i owe to the bank is more that what you are facing now. By the time i wake up from my gambling addict, i was already in deep shit. I was served wiyh default by 2 banks (i literally owe all banks whichever you can name). Spoke to banks and managed to neg for installments at no interests. This is the biggest mistake of my life.

 

I went into sales job after that and i managed to clear all my debts with the banks after 1.5 years with the help of my Wife.

 

After i cleared my debts, i tot i am free and i went ahead to buy house with my wife. All my loan application with my wife was rejected due to the default. I sent the banks proof of my settlement with the banks but they refuse to grant me loan as they said thay the bank who grant me neg settlement stated this in my credit bureau report. Moreover, there is defailt record. Luckily, there is this bank who is willing to grant me loan after talking to them for quite sometime.

 

Fast forward to last year, my default in my credit bureau is cleared after 3 years of settlement. I tried to apply loan for a car for an amt that is lesser tjan the parf value, just to try my ability to loan. All banks rejected me although my last 3 years income are more than 100k and the loan required is less than 20k where the paper value of the car is 50k. One of the bank officer told me that even though my credit bureau is cleared, the banks still have a record of my history and this is shared with all banks!!

 

This year early, finally i managed to get loan for my wife car. They loan me an amt less than the parf value of the car.

 

I realised that we are in a country with no mercy, unlike the US. Once we have a black mark, it will take years to clear, not to mention bankruptcy.

No worries, I still stand my point, I m not opting for bankruptcy. Sometimes it's better say than done, though my intention r being doubt, but no worries, I believe I can still go thru. Thanks everyone for the advice, really appreciate no matter wat :) I already feel the warmth in this big family , really thanks. After I solved everything, will certainly like to invite all of u out for a tea session. But think give me 3-4 yrs time, Im certain problems can b solve eventually.

Hi Bro, u hv to learn to self-help yourself. A lot of time, debts are due to poor mgt of finance.

1) sell whatever items u can find in your house at e-bay (treadmill, PS3, massage chair, etc). I'm sure u hv more than these items to sell & cash out money.

2) go to Money Max to cash out some gold.

3) go thru your Insurance/Investment Policies, surrender it to cash out money but keep the Medical Insurance which can be pay by Medisave.

4) sell your car and travel by public transport.

5) check u & your family mobile/utility bills & keep within the limit.

6) eat at home or hawker center instead of foodcourt or restaurant.

7) look for your MP...assistance like monthly supplying of household food, bursary are provided.

8) look into yours and your family lifestyle (ie. less shopping - buy only when necessary only) and cut down on unnecessary expenses.
