Turbocharged

Why not buy STi instead of WRX? Not much difference in price, right?

A lot of reasons:

Insurance, tax, displacement. Its actually a lot more exp.

Anyway there is a clip in YouTube comparing the Rex and STi, the Rex with the newer FA20 has more potential in modding. Also, a simple ecutek flash could put the Rex as powerful as the STi.

For me, I choose wrx because its CVT is wife friendly. Off course it is also much cheaper. I like manual but CVT is more practical for me....

WRX was already selling below 140k half a year ago, before the CEVs revision. that was when the COE was higher too.

Slightly bo hua if buy now, but I think it's still offers a lot more value over the 200+k new honda CTR. Save the $ for yearly Europe trips for family of 4 instead  [laugh]

The sti is by default 20k more expensive than the wrx due to the cevs penalty. Really tough to sell with such a penalty.

Went down to toa payoh, no car to view. Haha. No sunroof, just 18 inch, leather seat, and the same entertainment as levers and others.

No sun roof?? The one at motor show has it. And the SE there said what you see is what you get, for $144800 that time.

So what should be our entering price ideally?

HONDA HRV 1.5 LX CVT has almost the same cost ( OMV = $22900 ) as the SUBARU WRX CVT ( OMV $23000 ). IMHO with Honda selling at $117k, the subaru should cost around $117k+5k CEVS = $122k region ( Fair value ).

Of course the Subaru is marketed as a premium saloon, therefore it should cost slightly higher. My take is it should not cost more than $130k.
