That means while coe down , seller up price . So lppl . Eg ' k3 up 10k ? So ad will just adjust profits within 10k boundary .... this is like cevs rebate dont benefit buyer . All eaten by seller .

And you sell less cars?

Deman still way exceed , can let price drop but defn not in tandem with coe drop . Sell less cars while overall rev maintain , also means less admin / logistics involve ? Guess they jack the price n adopt wait / see approach.

Also as a mcfr pointed out there may be min loan quantum to get x amt of comm .

Different AD will want the COE to be at different levels.

A luxury marque will probably heck care how high it goes since the COE is just a small percentage of the total purchase price.

And they don't take loans anyway. So commission off the financing is not crucial.

B&B ADs will want it to be lower to bring in more mass market buyers.

There is limited COE, if you don't secure one, it goes to someone else and you lose the sales. How to suka suka raise prices to make more profit, like you opine in your earlier post?

Dealer's objective is to get car buyer to committed to the highest price as possible so they have more room to help you secure your COE without eating too much into their profit. Indirectly you are also helping them close sales.

Yes, they will price it to sell but they would also want the highest price possible so that they can makan as profit or pay for COE to close the sales but competition should keep a lid on price, maybe less so for some brands but so long as you have a competitor, cannot suka suka up price. That's what I'm saying. They will like car buyer to commit as high as possible to help them secure the COE complete the sale.

 

The competition part is subjective as no 2 products are exactly the same. There is also the tactic of lowering price to attract bookings first and then gradually raising price to generate anxiety or remorse among those staying in the side.

 

If this generates enough demand and COE goes up the first group might be asked to top-up.

 

All in all, part of the high COE price can be attributed to dealers trying ways to outbid each other.

as usual, things r v slow on Day 1. so far, there were only 14 bids for cars.

These are mostly people trying their luck. The real powerful bidders will start 3pm tomorrow

Can't wait to see what happens tomorrow, will there be a dip. exciting and oh yes, thanks to Yoyo's graphs and intel it keeps getting bettter!! :) I have friends who believe that COE will plunge to 30k next year. Thats alot of conviction from them...

If the plunge (temporary) coincide with the next GE, it will be a win-win. Then up it goes again...

Time to start engine. Abt 20% more COE for pte cars and 20% less for Van. Will Van overtake Cat A Car before x'mas? Today's result shd give a strong hint.
