I can only find "google cast" by google in play store (android). The others that is named eith the wird miracast are not from google.

 

What miracast app are you using?

Since you haven't collect car yet, asked the sales person to explain to you how to use it.

They may smoke you saying mirrorlink need special cable.

But if you download rockscout app, it manages to link but only half screen. So clearly don't need special cable

 

The technician actually dare tell me that this is supposed to be the sales person job.

Well, my SE already said he only knows how to connect with iPhone and not Andriod (he uses iPhone), so kinda closed the door to show me to connect to my A8. But 'luckily' i have an iPhone 6 so ha, he still has to show me.

 

I don't understand for BM, when they are selling so many cars monthly, how they don't bother giving this training to the staff / information to customer properly (e.g. printout). It sounds BM is complacement and arrogant so don't bother the effort it's customers are spending to figure out how to use this product.

 

Yes, please write to BM. Maybe more of us should.

by the way, I recall during test drive, the GPS is a garmin software. Is this correct current Elegance model? Is it easy for the user to update the map (e.g. Malsingmap) such as via a memory card image upload to the unit?  or must go back to BM and pay (after the 1st or 1st 2 free updates)?

 

e.g. For Mazda I was told the map is stored a SD card inserted in the card read installed in the armrest compartment.

No GPS is using here now. I think BM lock the firmware so we can't get iauto support.

GPS works without sd card. So I dunno where the map is stored

 

For mirrorlink, please see how to use here using just usb. Unfortunately u have to do a handbrake bypass.

Works for me when handbrake engaged.

Lastly, can someone that has Thinkware X550-2CH install tell me more about the installation. e.g. is the recorder connected to the car battery or to the cigarette lighter? All wiring hidden properly or visible ? great if you can show a photo. Thanks.

Went to make the balance payment today. Asked SE a few of the qns.

 

HU is fully touch screen. So i guess is the latest model.

 

There is no more respray promo already. Said something abt those promo was used to clear old stock.

 

The time taken from reg to collection is due to many cars being ordered the last few months.

 

Personally i don want to rush them, so if there is sloppy workmanship, they cannot say i push them for fast collection.

 

that is very weird indeed, you are losing 7 days of coe cost and loan interest for free, mine took 1 working day nia, with a weekend in between. coe was secured 2 months ago as i want them to delay delivery to fully use my then ex car, once they assign a car to you, they can already do up any pps, solar film or parts before registering the car to you.. you should ask why register so early when you are only collecting 7 days later... collection day might be unnegotiable due to queue and demand but registering date should be not be too far off.. 

 

btw my se send her courier down to my office to collect my balance cheque.. they ask you to make a trip down?

Yup my SE asked me to "pop by" to make the payment. As you said, i lost 5 days of loan and coe. Didnt ask about why the reg and collection so far apart. But i think is a heng suay situation. Read in some forum that some bro here collect next day, while some also collect a week later.

wa you should shoot your se... should be able to register 1 or 2 days before, only thing left after that is the licence plate which does not take long.. iu number assignment, seats, parts, solar film all can be done beforehand to the car that is assigned to you.. i even top up for better solar film..

$300 is day light robbery.

At this price I can buy a Garmin with lifetime map update.

With $300 I can pay M1 data passport many times and use data for Google map / navigation.

Hi guys I am new to this forum.

Had booked my Altis elegance 2 week ago and was just informed by the SE that I have gotten my  COE on the first bid.

Had arranged with SE to register and collect my vehicle early December as I wanted to fully utilize my previous generation altis fully as I am trading in the vehicle.

Although I have been driving for more than 8 years, this is my first ever new car.

I have some question in regards to collecting the new car and hope the guru here can advise:

• The car comes with Thinkware H50 dash cam, I plan to replace it with the Blackvue 650 2CH cam with either Cellink B3 battery or power magic for parking recording.

Do I need to buy from BM or can I install it outside as it is cheaper. Will this void the electical warranty for the vehicle?

Should I get Cellink or Power magic, from what I know BM only has Cellink and not power magic. And saw some post saying that cellink will damage the car battery. As the car is using the water type battery will my 5 year warranty cover it too?

 

• I also plan to change the light bulb for the cabin and truck to LED, will this have any effect on the warranty?

 

• I saw in the previous post that there is a Bodycare program for all new purchase vehicle, is it still valid and how does it works? The SE did not mention anything about this to me at all.

 

• For the autofold module for side mirror is it worth getting?

 

• Is the Toyota Shield Infinity Membership good to get?

 

• I saw that the FOC solar film given by BM is no good, does anyone know the cost to upgrade to 3M Crystalline? Should I upgrade at BM or change myself outside?

 

Sorry  for the long post as I really need clarification on the above.

A lot of questions u ask should be answered by SE. they represent BM. Offers may differ during sales.

 

Auto folding can install during servicing so u can decide if that's necessary

 

If your cabin led fails and causes other issues, BM may pin it on u. So may have to change it back b4 claiming warranty

 

Blackvue is slightly cheaper outside.

But I got BM to install so everything is will pin it on them

 

If u never had solar film it's better than nothing. If u had better one before, this one sucks. BM don't do upgrade when I booked

 

Like I said ask your SE.

Hi My5t3ry, I will try to answer those I know.

1. Battery warranty is 2 yrs and 50% discount on 3rd year.

2. For changing of internal LED, u may need to ask SE. My SE told me that he change his Toyota interior LED too.

3. Auto mirror I did it outside. Sorry cannot remember how much. Love it as it tell me from a distance whether I have locks the car.

4. I heard BM recently remove the free body care program. It allow u free repaint of two panels of the car no including the front and back bumper.

5. Toyota shield is actually up to individual. It only kick in on the 3rd year. SE try to sell me and I say u must give me something to park the money with them. So, they give me free wheel rotation and engine flush.

6. I have nvr used higher grade solar before so I cannot comment. The car if park under hot sun for 6hrs. It is hot but the car air con is quite fast to bring the temp down. I think someone mention about 1000-1500 range.

 

Congrats on yr new ride. I am very happy with my ride. Doing accessories add on bit by bit.
