Yes, choose to remove the battery is a better choice, thanks.

i did my ecu reset today at lengkee BM. 3 hrs down time. svc staff says that remove battery will created lots of unnecessary reset to other parts of yr car. better go to them for reset is a better choice. cheers

the battery is not maintenance free type?

get the petrol station loyalty + credit card combo ready.

windscreen washing fluid (the type that pours into the reservoir tank)

tissue paper (you dont want to sneeze in the car and nothing to wipe your hand) :P

For first time owner car collection you may want to cater some time for car accessories shopping.

There's 3M car mat authorised distributor nearby and autobacs.

Petrol is only about 10L. You maye want to top up and get the loyalty card.

Essential Shopping list includes
Battery water
Tyre pressure gauge
Quick detailer for wiping bird poo
Microfiber cloth
Extended mirror if not elegance model
And most importantly, child seats, if u have kids

There's no need for torch light, if u really want, the on site detailer have it. Your perfect car condition will be marred by water stain, stone chips, bird poo, inconsiderate people who ding your door when they open theirs

This is from someone who washes and polishes his own car. Don't worry too much about minor defect that surfaces during very close scrutiny

My SE finally emailed me super late last night to make the remaining payment this week.

But they can only reg it earliest by 20th and collection by 27th.

Are they always that slow? COE was secured on the 5th.

Any bro here can tell me what the latest HU model. Want to make sure the SE don give me old stock.

Is the GPS map updated? Or do i have to get them to update it on collection?

Many thanks in advance

same for me on collection date despite secured COE on 5th Nov.

Claims many sales so long queue. It only make sense to me when there is so much backlog from previous COE rounds still waiting for delivery.

anyway....

anyone knows how to interpret the below  (sorry, lost formatting when copy & paste from onemotoring)? i.e. each COE round ~4k COE released but below is ~800 numbers. so this is for a period of 1 week? or how? trying to predict my car is it SLH or not. if SLG8xxx not bad, at least got a number 8. unlikely it is SLH4xxx since still 6k from SLG8xxx.

My registered and collect 2 days later. Secure coe to collection 3 weeks

10 days to collect after register is unacceptable.

Something is not right. Why need 7 days for the car to be collected? Mine was reg'ed on 6 Sep and collected on 8 Sep. 2 days nia. did you ask them to do something to the car like pps coating, etc?

+1

Rego, collection and even PPS can be all done within a week. Even for Toyota which does a lot of installations after the car comes into Singapore. At that point many things are still missing from the car, eg HU, alloy rims etc.

Could be ex-stock.  What's your manufacture month?

Went to make the balance payment today. Asked SE a few of the qns.

HU is fully touch screen. So i guess is the latest model.

There is no more respray promo already. Said something abt those promo was used to clear old stock.

The time taken from reg to collection is due to many cars being ordered the last few months.

Personally i don want to rush them, so if there is sloppy workmanship, they cannot say i push them for fast collection.

When collecting, so check on the paint as well as whether got water seep into the headlights and rear lights.

Check the rims for any rashes and also if boot can close properly. These are the few basics I checked when collecting my car.

Hope your process is going smoothly. Another recommendation I forgot about, but perhaps less relevant with BM Toyotas, is that you can ask your SE to provide you with your car's VIN; the Vehicle Identification Number. Think of it as a universal serial code system, used to identify an exact car no matter where it is in the world (assuming it hasn't be tampered with).

You can use this serial code to verify the specification/equipment or manufacturing details of your vehicle in advance and unless the car is not yet in the dealer's hands, they should not be unable to provide it to you. If they don't want to provide it to you, there might be something else to worry about....
