Altis2016 1st Gear December 19, 2017 Share December 19, 2017 Just Sharing. After 30K, my car start to have a slight rattle sound at low speed of <50km/h. U can hear this on highway if travel on smooth road. Initially thought that it is the carbon thing as back then I am experiencing the pull push effect. As it happens 3-4 times a month and only for a short period of time, I have difficulty capturing the rattle sound in the car while driving. When I stop the car, the rattle is gone. @40k servicing, highlights the sound issues to them but they find no problem. After 40K, the sound happens more often and is getting louder (like when u are beside old school bus @ traffic light junction. Again, has problem recording the sound in the car and the sound gone when I stop the car. Then one day, I manage to capture the sound of the engine when the rattle happen. Yesterday, brought the car doem to BM. See my videos and someone not wearing normal clothes (not BM uniform) listen to my engine (which Suai suai nvr rattle). At the end of the day, they change my alternator and give me a new battery as they claim that my battery is not good under their testing. Seriously, I dont feel any abnormally with my car battery as I have a voltage monitor in my car. Since everying is under warranty and FOC, then change lah. Altis2016 1st Gear December 21, 2017 Share December 21, 2017 [:p]I think traffic is much better in Nov & Dec on the highway. Also, I do not have to pick up my kids along the way. I also think that the tire now is near its lifespan and tire resistance is lower now. Last week, I got 19.3km/l. Crazy and unbelievable!! Change on Monday, so far so good. Will monitor further. Because this incident, I know how the engine should sound like now. Haha.......
Ghostrider8 Clutched January 6, 2018 Share January 6, 2018 Have not use the trunk release on the remote for sometime. Today try to use the trunk release to load some stuff and found that the trunk cannot open with the remote. Also the car search function also not working. Only the door look and unlock is working on the remote now. Any way to reset the remote?

My5t3ry Clutched February 1, 2018 Share February 1, 2018 Wonder how you guys achieve such a good FC on your Altis. I got my Altis on Dec 2016, just finished my 4th Free servicing at 17K mileage last month. Every 3k I will use 1 bottle of techron concentrate, but my FC always around 11-12.5 per km only. I install my UR bar 6 months ago based on Bro Drion recommendation and it really improved the handling quite significantly. During turning at highway you can feel that your vehicle is holding firmly to the ground. Just to check with you guys if we change the HU of the car will it void the electrical warranty of the vehicle, I am really sick of the Toyota HU. Not user friendly at all.
ConnorMcLeod 2nd Gear February 1, 2018 Share February 1, 2018 FC depends on the traffic condition a lot. for my usual days I drive 90% on hwy. Typical FC is 16km/l per tank. during the recent rainy days where there were traffic jams on my way, my average fc can drop to as low as 12 km/l during the week. I am not sure, however, how much difference in fc when I drive gentle or hard, seems < 1km/l difference so far as I notice. So I conclude my 'hard' driving is still within the range for the engine management to handle . Wonder how you guys achieve such a good FC on your Altis. In my case, i do aro 600km per week and pump petrol per week. i find that I have to do at least 20km highway (moderate traffic), to acheive this. I stay in the east and work in the west. It is just my belief that Toyota is very honest about FC. I am never a toyota fan and this is actually my first toyota car that I ever own. This is what I find: 1.) when @ slight slope on highway and u step hard on the accelerator, u lose FC. I travel from KPE to TPE direction. At the end of the tunnel, there is a slop. Most of the time, at the point of entry the tunnel to the end of the tunnel, my FC will always improve (when yr mileage for this tank is aro 200km). At the slope, if i squeeze on the accelerator , FC drop. If gentlely step on accelerator, the FC maintain. 2.) when u are a few hundred metres from a traffic light showing green. If u step on the accelerator, it kills FC. if u just accelerate gently, it improve FC. Even if u did mit beat the traffic light, as long as the timing of the light is less 25sec, it still loss lesser FC than hard acceleration. Anyway, this is my own school of thoughts. Now @ leng Kee doing my 50K servicing. Saw the CHR. Damned chio. Just ask for fun. Offered my May 16 car for 80K. Very tempting.

HUD units show fc 16-16.4 for the last 5 weeks. For my case, the manuel calculation is very close to car fc display . How do you get the HUD to display the graph? Mine is just one bar.

ConnorMcLeod 2nd Gear February 7, 2018 Share February 7, 2018 Today my trip computer reported 806km total range for this full tank (did 200km so far) n FC at 17.7km/l. Wish every day the drive is dMooth like today's.
ConnorMcLeod 2nd Gear February 10, 2018 Share February 10, 2018 Was thinking about the high mileage of Altis2016 then did some maths. 95 octane per tank roughly SGD70 with station discount. x 52 weeks per year -> SGD3640 FC @ 9km/l . Spec says 16.3km/l for new facelift. Prius spec says FC @ 25.6km/l. Current FC is better than spec, so I assume can achieve 25.6km/l on Prius . SGD3640 x 19 / 25.6 = SGD2700 yearly savings = SGD900, SGD9000 over 10 years Alt. SGD3640 x 16.3 / 25.6 = SGD2320 and yearly savings SGD1300, SGD13000 over 10 years Altis price @ $104k, Prius C @ $109k (BM) / , Prius @ $158k (BM) / $107k (PI) (why PI so much cheaper, what features are taken out?). If one needs Altis <-> Prius 1.8 (BM), then the petrol savings hardly motivates the switch to hybrid. And this is not yet counting in case need to change battery (think now BM has 10 years battery warranty). FC really depends on the hw many % u driving on highways. As my weekdays, my drive is clearly 90-95% urban driving, my fc is fluctuating ard 9.4 to 10.9 or 400-450km per refill. weekend when im on highway more, fc did improve. The start stop is a killer of our ride as ours dnt hve the start stop technology. UR bar basic setup is good enough for most. Me too but with more bars and rigid collar. Me having same setup as Drion. Hehe. But his ride is so much nicer. For some of our grp members, they did change to newer model which is so much better in terms of user friendliness and functionality. They also upgrade the whole audio package which sounds really good. I cant comment cos im still on the stock HU. Guys who upgraded, help our bro out. As what Sglenevo said, fc really dependent on how heavy ur foot and how bad the traffic is.Mine was 11+ to 13+, so nothing to be worried about. :) As for HU, it is a grey area but if u ask BM, they will say yes most prolly. However, as long as u did ur HU right, warranty shouldn't be void unless the installer spoilt ur car. Go Change ur HU, Android or pioneer 8850. Good and luxurious. Hi.
