Nato Clutched December 7, 2016 Share December 7, 2016 Hi Guys, I am handing over my current old altis to BM next week for trade in and getting my new altis at the same time. I have some question and will need your advise. If the current car have some minor dent or scratches do I need to repair them before handing over the vehicles? I have upgrade my new altis to 3M crystaline solor film, is there anyway to identify whether the film is crystaline when I pick up the ride? This is actually my first time buying a new car, is there any specific things I need to check when doing the pick up? Me also collecting next week... ↡ Advertisement

Buyers quote trade in value based on condition of vehicle at that time. I was told so long no new serious damage then quote will hold. From what you wrote they already saw your car so condition known. You just use it nornally until last day.

AltisOwner Turbocharged December 9, 2016 Share December 9, 2016 Updates for the In-Touch Multimedia System in the Toyota Car Hi, has any brothers have updated the In-touch system that installed in your car to a new version and how? This morning I call up BM Service Centre to enquire about the updates because I will be sending my car for 10K service toward the end of this month. BM said, they can do the update for the GPS upon request and it is free only for the 1st year, Subsequently it will be charged for a fee. I asked how much is the charges, she couldn’t tell me and say that she will get the Service Manager to call me. I am wondering why BM should charge us for a fee for updating the System since the In-Touch Multimedia was provided in the car? Any devices that we buy there should be free updates available from the website. Does anyone know that another brand of cars is also the same? Appreciate any feedback. Thanks. ConnorMcLeod 2nd Gear December 10, 2016 Share December 10, 2016 (edited) sorry wrote msg on smartphone and realise all these typos :/ Points 2 , 5 & 6 done. Point 1 instead of slignment cgecked wheel balance. Point 4 shuddering is reducing so i monitor for now. Point 3 not done only checked suspension. Will get a frirnd who also drives altis to feel the drive same or different to his. I first use Esso 95 and then SPC 95 and last week switched back to Esso 95 purposely. Indeed can feel E 95 is more powerful as in pick up better, and tends to cause more shudder at the said conditions. The mechanic said this is due to CVT switching between 4th and 5th gear around the same moment that caused the shudder. Am thinking if i should put CVT in manual mode +/- to confirm while driving on expressway. Never really used manual mode +/- so not sure if used to one hand on gear shift again (last drive on manual transmission was > 10 years, hope right hand is still stable enough. hahaha) Seriously thinking should get my friend to drive / sit in. maybe I already got paranoid with the ride so not assessing/feeling the ride objectively. done another 1k km since the last service which I drove with the mechanics. now on SPC95. avg FC is > 15.5km/l for normal commuting between work and home daily. shudder/judder of transmission is reducing, still there but already acceptable. instable rear aka suspension problem - it is much less now. I guess the mechanics has done something after the drive but did not tell me, and he did more than just reduce tyre pressure to 30. I recall the drive from the workshop was already slightly better but I thought it was imagination. Now my kids stop telling me the car is shaky too. maybe there is also difference between mineral and synthetic oil that engine spins better hence less judder with tranny? doesn't matter anymore :P Now I am much happier with the drive. Will monitor what happens when I switch (back to) Esso 95. Edited December 10, 2016 by ConnorMcLeod

It was distracting n irritating for me to anticipate the shudder in the past months. Now i can enjoy the drive fully.
