Got 1 strut bar top and 2 anti roll bar bottom front and back. I consider these performance add on :)

These items should improve the handling of the XT.

Hi,

Does anyone know if MI will bring in eyesight (currently version 3) feature for its series?

Why do we always get a strip down version of what other countries get? I know it boils down to cost but they can at least make it an optional addon. In the past, simple technology like 6 airbags and stability control were standard and Singapore only get it as standard in recent years. I feel the government should make it mandatory for every car. Cost may be higher though.

I agree. I have been reading up reviews of certain car models over past months and realized the local ADs here (not sure about the PIs) often bring the "lesser" specs/features models. Disappointing:(

I reckon it is just simple mathematics. No thanks to the COE premiums. It's already so expensive to buy a car in Singapore with the COE in place. So the ADs will need to juggle with this and the profit margins of their sales. How best can an AD get its cars sold, and to sell it at a higher profit. So one way is not to bring in high specs/features models for price competitiveness.

Just my personal observation.

Acutally, for subaru forester, its already quite top end model, eqivalent to the us touring without the eyesight option.

Same for Mitsubishi outlander, also the premium without the equivalent eyesight stuffs.

Think to bring in with eyesight, its the tax on the addon stuffs that will increase the price by a lot.

I think lta should not tax on safefty addon stuffs.

If not wrong, by putting in eyesight, price might be another 20k more. But then again, they can also add one more model like xt premium that has eyesight.

It's kinda strange that more competition among the brands they still provide less features. But at least MI did put in the airbags and the traction control. Not like some jap AD only 2 air bags n no traction control.

It is their prerogative and dealing with inaccurate/accident as a result of eyesight can be difficult to manage especially lawsuit.

Then, they are choosing the easy way and not upholding the leading edge research from subaru ...

sad!!

I asked about eyesight, they say it's management decision not to bring in, avoid potential customer complaints if malfunction

i guess they also want to place the omv below s$20k so if add eyesight option in, with additional omv of $3-4k, plus additional ARF because overall omv moves up, they would have to sell the car above $140-150k

Neutral Newbie

Forester XT with AWD cannot scramble its way around curves under power meh?? Should be do-able within limits, even though the body roll might be scary.

I too prefer to measure the other driver's "hell-driver" level by the way he/she takes a curve/expressway exit/flyover ramp at speed --- straightline speeding and tailgating means nothing. Actually, a SUV's higher driving position makes it easier for me to anticipate traffic up ahead --- better for overtaking.

Me driving a 2007 Murano and waiting for COE levels to come down before booking a FXT.

Ian.....just get it lah. I am driving one myself. hahaha.

Those still sitting on the fence, perhaps this will entice you.

Introducing the Facelift Forester designs. Leaked to the internet earlier!

What I noticed:

Exterior

Finally equipped with a newly design headlamps with bi xenon projectors

New Rim design

New bumper design for 2.0i Premium

New rear lamp clusters

New grille design

Interior

New steering wheel design with thumb grip

New trims for door handles and gear shift

Colored LCD/LED dashboard design

Specs

Engine output and technical specs is expected to be the same as current version, but rumoured that the 2.0i has been tuned to improve FC slightly. Expect OMV to increase slightly too.

Note: This is the JDM version, the export version may differ. Trims will arrive late 2015 to early 2016 in Japan. Not sure about international markets. You can try asking MI but I doubt they will give you a solid reply.

Those changes you describe will bring the Forester much more in to 2015.

The new headlamp cluster looks like it is following the example set by the WRX/Legacy, and the projectors with the horizontal strip adds a "satki glare" to the front end for the XT with the gapping maw effect created by the "sports bumper".

Subaru, I feel, need to be a little bit more trendy, imo. Perhaps this will be a step in that direction. [:p]
