The best thing is ISP don't remind you until it's too late. Just don't understand why they cannot remind customers when contract is nearing the end.

I have been continuing without contract for years.  Didn't find any benefit to lock myself into a contract.

I can only afford a small home.

No problems with no wifi spots.

This thread is really a first world problem thread.

:D

Same, been using Asus  old gen AC router, and now downgrade to another TP link AC router coz it came with the contract.  No dead spot in my small HDB flat. My son has his online lesson with google meet behind closed doors, signal is strong. I find one key thing is location of the router, somewhere central and higher up from the ground  so no furnitures will add on the the blockage.

Ya, if it's same price with contract price, then no point to carry on with contract.

Standard sets from Singtel.

Just changed a new set couple months ago when we feedback of intermittent dropping of signals.

@Atonchia so after changed to new mesh... signal shld be better now rite!

Yes signal is good.

Just frustrated that there are time when there will be suddenly no internet for like up to couple minutes.

Maybe I should check immediately if the router light was actually red when there is signal but no internet.

It is either wifi router or fibre modem

It happens every few months.  I have reboot modem.

I don't mind too if it's the same price but mine reverted to original pricing which was double of what I was paying.

Oh, it's also real stupid when ISP doesn't care how little bandwidth you need and the least you can go is 1Gbps.

Not much savings if you go lower and in actual fact, we're good with just 200Mbps.

A few years ago, SingTel customer service kept pestering me to recontract & upgrade my obsolete 500Mbps plan to 1Gbps.

I told her politely I don't need 1Gbps & certainly don't want to pay $10 more for it ($49.90 instead of 39.90).

The last straw was when she warned me that I have to pay for a new router should it fail if I don't recontract cos no more warranty.

Fine, I switched to M1 1Gbps at $39.90 and got a new Asus router vs recontract at 49.90 for a SingTel rebranded Aztech router.

Thanks.. to save all trouble i recontracted with SinkTel at $39.90 per month for 2 years #1Gbps

Got the tp link ax5400 separately but facing issue.. why can't i connect to the ONT direct to the router? got no internet error..
