  1. Currently using the router provided by SH. Coverage is not very good and unable to receive any signal in MBR. Planning to get an android TV in MBR so gonna do something about the router. Router is in the living rm so any recommendation for router that is able to cover MBR? Saw quite a few Asus in Challenger. I'm not really keen on wifi extender though.
  2. Hey guys - this is probably more appropriate for HWZ - but you're all cleverer and I prefer to talk here, so will try first... Recently got our fiber Broadband with Starhub. So got a nice spanking new D-Link router... Decided to turn my old TP-Link into a bridge to boost the signal to the bedroom....but CANNOT!!! I have changed the settings, turned of DHCP, given it a new IP address so that it connects to the D-Link BUT....it refuses to let me up to the internet.. No doubt some here have got the same D-Link router from Starhub - anybody got any ideas on how I can do the bridge?
  3. Anyone using the above mentioned router from Starhub? Any reviews of it? Am planning a purchase for a new router. Currently using the Asus AC68U. The wifi connection in my master room is very bad once the door closes. worse is when the Mrs and I are using our individual iPads or Macs.
  4. Would changing to 802.11n router increase reliability and speed of 1mb connection My broadband speed is 1MB, I'm currently using this netgear G router. If I change to Asus RT-N56U Wireless Router, will I see improvement in speed and performance?
  5. I got a mobile broadband sim card. Wanted to use a router to share a few user. Not looking for portable battery type. Anyone?
  6. Mine is about 4yrs old, and ocassionally the signals are weak. But I believe such gadget is timeless life (almost) coz i cant think of any wear n tear parts inside what will be worn and affect its performance? How long has yours lasted? WiFi Router

If I buy a wifi router and leave it on 24x7, how much additional monthly electricity bill am I looking at? Assuming normal brands and entry-model routers like buffalo and asus etc. Personal experiences welcomed. Thanks.
  8. Need some help here. I'm on SH maxonline and is using Motorola SBV5121i voice modem and Linksys WRT54G router. All was working fine until last evening when my internet connection became very very very slow. Then there after, i couldn't access the internet on my iphone (WIFI) and laptop. I checked the LEDs on the modem and all the required LEDs are lit. I'm not an expert but I would expect the DS and DR LEDs to blink when i'm surfing web right? When I tried to a webpage, the DS and DR LEDs were lit but not blinking. However, the LINK LED is blinking. Does that mean the router is working but the modem is spoilt? Or is it the other way round? Any bros can help?

  10. I know it is dumb easy, but really, this really made me headache because I simply cannot get it connect to the net at all. I open my Wireless Network Connection, scan for my network then double click on it. Instead of prompting me to key in the password, it get it connected. But, stated "Validating Identity" And shown: Windows was unable to find a cert to log u on to the network "XXX " I went Google for this cause and it stated: "Click on the Authentication tab, and then clear the box for "Enable IEEE 802.1x authentication for this network." (The box should be empty.)" But, I still cannot get into the net despite doing that. Can anyone care to help? I am using Win XP.
  11. Hi All Bros, Need some advice. I intend to get a WIRELESS-G ROUTER WGR614 for the Starhub's hubstation, and connect the two devices via the ethernet port. Since the hubstation is a router itself, can I install wireless access point instead? http://www.netgear.com/Products/Routersand...ers/WGR614.aspx Basically, I plan to have a wireless setup for the hubstation, with reasonable good coverage but at a low cost. What are my options? BTW, any issue with G-router's signal strength if blocked by a solid wall?
  12. Any members here using the above care to share your experience here? Thank You.
