Hi guys,

Got a question to ask you guys.

I had booked my ride (city) on 2nd may and had secured my COE on 1st bid. According to the SE, Was told that the car is schedule for production in june and most prob can collect around end July /Aug.Am thinking of changing my model which is the new civic.

Am wondering whether can it be done? Wanted to go for the turbo model but due to the COE under Cat B, so no choice have to go with the regular civic.

Anyone ever successfully change the ride before?

I think it's not possible without losing your downpayment. If you really want the Civic, I suggest you talked to SE and see if any buyer that is willing to buy over your City.

But City not bad also ma, if you ask me, I would rather choose Civic 1.5T than 1.6NA to feel the difference.

I've not done this before but I'm quite sure it can be arranged esp since your City is also not ex-stock.

Talk to your SE, good luck!!

PS. One issue could be that the first few batches of Civics already sold out, so not sure if your COE expiry can match the delivery time of your Civic cos now could be Oct delivery or so for the 1.6NA. Only Kah can tell.

SPIED: Honda Civic with 1.0 litre VTEC Turbo for China

Thks for the link!

Stated many times here that this should be the model brought in here for Cat A instead of the 1.6NA.

Suspect Thailand not manufacturing this version yet but maybe later on?

Those who insist on cat A and can wait may want to wait cos I feel this version more suited for us compared to the 1.6NA though need to try out. Still feel the 1.6NA may not be sufficient for this G10 Civic but will hold my comments till it's here.

Our indo, thai & malaysia fren don't want Civic that has bhp lower than 130hp.

This engine will be available in Europe & China.  We have to stick to that 1.6L forever.

Hi Itsec,

As a matter of fact, I had changed 7 cars during the last 8 years. I am thinking whether will i be sticking to this car for a period of time. My wife and in law had been asking me why do i change car so frequently? :(

Due to this is my very first BRAND NEW car, I don't really wish to regret but the problem here is the SE is not willing to help, I can't do much except just to stay on with my order.

I foresee within the next 1-2 years, I might changed again.  [knife]

The SE I've spoken to was saying that model change or color change is possible with a $2k fee.

It should be stated in the agreement that you signed.

No la, I am just a average joe only.

All this while I have been changing used car. Till today I decided to change to brand new car to reduce the breakdown and the inconvenience  as I need a car to bring my children to school, wife to work etc.

My posting is not to show I am rich or what so ever if some of you are taking it that way, My apologies on that.

On a side note, I'm not a table wiper or someone who wear a rolex and insist on paying full cash for every purchase which is less than 100k. That's what i call rich!

I'm just a no class citizen who is working hard to meet end needs.

Thanks for telling me that.

I will check on my agreement and see whether is there such clause on it.

Appreciate your reply.

to be honest I don't think City and Civic NA have significant difference in term of perform, specious, and handling, however its price has significant different.

therefore I suggest stick on City unless you are keen to Civic TC

(edited)

There is also 2016 Honda Civic Coupe. Not bad also. Same engine specs as the 4 door  but shares little of the same body panels as the saloon. More sporty and lower and wider...and possibly just a fraction faster.

The Si and Type R have been delayed but will probably make landfall in early 2017. There may even be a 5 door hatchback version.  [dizzy]

Watch the Coupe review here:
