ER-3682 Supersonic January 17, 2016 Share January 17, 2016 There is one time i 'followed' a slow exiter,i thought he got no confident to exit, until the road all clear, still did not move, overtook on his left,he is typing message on his handphone ...this type of driver.... ↡ Advertisement
Watwheels Supersonic January 18, 2016 Share January 18, 2016 Just go with the flow. I also do not like ppl who take their sweet time. Slowly do u-turn like they are still a learner driver. Exit like they are taking a driving test. I mean if you are a seasoned driver you should have the know how to exit or whatever. Safety issue is subjective coz like in this case ppl who is impatient starts to overtake you dangerously. Is it really safe? It's not a matter of who's fault. If you are not confident, always keep to the left. Let ppl who are more confident to use the right most lane. You do not feel good too when a driver in front of you takes his time and hog the entire lane when you can clearly see that his path is clear.
Loki Supersonic January 18, 2016 Share January 18, 2016 Let it go man. This kind of things happen all the time. No need to get excited about it. If you get worked up over such incidents, your blood pressure will go up. Let the fella horn as much as he wants lor. Just turn up your music and do your own thing safely.

I lived my own life & not for others. While I don't intentionally delay or inconvenient others, I do what I like & take my time doing things. It's my life & my 24hours after all. For those who are impatient behind me, please get out of your house earlier. 2

For TS case the driver behind him most likely has the line of sight to the traffic as with TS so if there are chances to exit but TS didn't....I can see the frustration. The cars on his left do not seem to have much issue exiting....all of them cleared. If you have noticed the some cars in TS's queue saw that the queue is not moving and they moved to the left and subsequently cleared. There are some bad driving habits about some drivers in Singapore. For some they would want to go to the right most lane at the shortest time possible and cut across multiple lanes when they enter the main road/expressway. They do not do it gradually like taking a lane at a time. I know the red light is close to the exit at vivocity but after turning right there are chances to keep right and anyway the cars will come to a merging lane if heading towards the city. TS might say the driver behind him is impatient but what about himself? Edited January 18, 2016 by Watwheels
Eighttales 5th Gear January 18, 2016 Share January 18, 2016 usually for vivocity i take the exit nearer to harbourfront centre, especially if i wanna turn right and go towards MCE. that exit has a traffic light so not so dangerous especially when cutting out into traffic just like in TS's case

How do you know what has been happening with his day? maybe he did get out of the house earlier, and then got a puncture, maybe he has been called back to the office for a last minute urgent meeting, maybe he was buying something but the cashier screwed up and delayed him by 15 minutes. Do you know why he is rushing? The trick with driving - don't do anything that makes you uncomfortable, because ultimately, you are responsible for what happens with you car, at the same time though, it's our responsibility as people not to cause unnecessary inconvenience towards others. In the video here we can see three cars on left lane have exited, but cam car is still sitting here - without seeing the traffic, that seems rather slow to me

You do not feel good too when a driver in front of you takes his time and hog the entire lane when you can clearly see that his path is clear. I think it works both ways. Safety is subjective and so are certain conditions which may make drivers go slower. What if it's our parents, wife or family member doing a slow u-turn just to be extra safe? I doubt we would complain because we are more understanding towards our own. And if a car behind starts horning like mad in such a situation, I'm sure most of us would ask the family member to ignore as we wouldn't want to risk their safety. If TS had gotten into an accident because of the pressure, I think the BMW would just shrug his shoulder and say "Too bad lor, blame it on inexperience", and just drive off. Why? Because it's not his car or his family's lives that are at risk.

Nowadays, with the traffic flow & driving behavior on the road, not chai better sell car.
Toothiewabbit Supersonic January 18, 2016 Share January 18, 2016 (edited) To me safety is everything be it slow or what, else there won't be less of footage of car being hit by straight on moving vehicles turning right at a junction. I was there yesterday and for the first time, used the HarbourFront exit to exit and it was a breeze. If you prefer to stick to Gateway exit, I would suggest that if the oncoming traffic is slow-moving and if its safe to do so, wind down window, kee chiu your right hand to the immediate oncoming vehicle and inch out slowly lor. Sorrie if I sound like gangster but it works . Edited January 18, 2016 by Toothiewabbit

He can be rushing for whatever reasons, but I cannot let his reason becomes my problem & act reckless. Same like when a car is pushing my tail on the road, I don't speed up because he's rushing. I just move aside & let him go. Some people rush for no reason.
Darryn Turbocharged January 18, 2016 Share January 18, 2016 (edited) Bro Darryn. He can be rushing for whatever reasons, but I cannot let his reason becomes my problem & act reckless. Same like when a car is pushing my tail on the road, I don't speed up because he's rushing. I just move aside & let him go. Some people rush for no reason. Agree with you fully - your prime responsibility on the road is to only do what you personally are comfortable with. The point to be made - people need to rush for all sorts of reasons, and it's not necessarily bad planning, laziness or tardiness that has made them late, it could have been something outside of their control, so the rush may be legitimate. On the road it is also important not to inconvenience others to the point where you push them into reckless acts - which is what makes road hogging so dangerous, it makes others angry and reckless. If you are regularly encountering such behaviour, then you need to consider how to mitigate the inconvenience to others - in other words, a bit of self reflection is in order, rather than just having the self righteous attitude of "leave the house earlier".
