2.5L suspension bumpy.$130k

 

 

What u all think?

I fully agree that the Camry 2.5L (current ride) suspension is way too bumpy, when compared to earlier 2002-2005 Camry model (previous ride).

 

However, the plus factor is that compared to the 2002-2005 Camry model, control and stability during turning tight corners is a huge improvement.

Actually i tested camry 2L and 2.5L and teana 2.5L and found teana more responsive than camry 2.5L.

Sonata 6 speed haven try yet.

Ubi that showroom is in AML..

u turn in 1st level u can see hyundai signage i think next to prime car..

Komoco no good?

Komoco services a car very long?

Tan chong or komoco which is better for doing servicing?

 

Mazda spare parts is as expensive as subaru,will be a killer for me..

Chevrolet is it as good as jap or Korea car?

Did you do a accelerator stomp test during all your test drive?

From stop depress the accelerator hard..

From 80-90kph depress the accelerator hard...

If you have not done it, please do it with a final test drive before you sign.

I think today will go test sonata and will try your way..

Camry 2L from slow speed accelerate alr like not moving fast and 2.5L is just ard thr as teana 2.5L

The 2L Sonata is underpowered and the difference between this and the 2.5LTeana would be very obvious without even attempting any stomp test.

If the 2.5L Teana is within your budget, get it. It is a newer model than Camry, slightly more comfortable, looks better (exterior & interior), just as reliable & cheaper than the 2.5 Camry.

Frankly for CVT.... The repair cost should be the least of your consideration... Go test drive all of them.... See if you can live with CVT "rubberband " effect.

What rubber-band effect.?As far as my Teana's CVT is concerned (the previous generation ) I feel it is a god-send. I just do not understand why people keep criticising the CVT. I am addicted to the extremely seamless gear changes and will not be able to live without it  now that I have experienced it. The new CVT in the present generation Nissan should be even better.

When one recommends a 2.0 sedan like sonata, they say its underpowered. When they recommend mazda 6, they say leg room small, when others recommend malibu, they say eeeeyer the badge.

 

Everything also see the negative side of things, never bother to weigh if that negative aspect will affect them or not and what exactly they prefer.

Oh like that i left with hyundai sonata only.

 

Teana is cvt and camry i think so also (forgot liao)

Heard the nissan say if cvt gearbox for teana is 10k now and is new model gearbox so maybe few years ltr price will drop as gearbox is already mass production in market

You will be able to get a refurbished CVT gearbox for around 3k for the Teana.  The new generation CVTs by major car manufacturers including NIssan are very reliable.

Its very much to do with the price we pay for cars here.  Though Cam, Syl, Son, Mal are but Bnb rides, but we pay like we are paying for a Porsche/Maserati.  And the expectation follows.  It will take an exceptional owner to match his/her expectation with the OMV.

What rubber-band effect.?As far as my Teana's CVT is concerned (the previous generation ) I feel it is a god-send. I just do not understand why people keep criticising the CVT. The effect of stepping on the accelerator and having the engine sound getting louder without the car accelerating as fast.... only gradually the speed catches up to commensurate with the amount of engine noise being produced.

To people used to traditional torque converter AT, it sounded like  the engine is being strained while power is not coming fast enough.

 

For very relaxed driver and cruising, CVT is god-sent. Everything easy and smooth. But for some drivers and in certain situation eg. joining  a busy main road from slip road  without holding up traffic, overtaking manoeuvre on the highway, it takes alot of getting used to.

 

I tried it in the latest Xtrail 2.0 CVT, still have the same characteristic. Not saying it is good or bad, just saying it is a characteristic you should understand and be able to live with.

 

Disclaimer: my gs hybrid is also using CVT, but the clever use of the electrical motor power that cuts in to boost the acceleration while the CVT is taking it's time to "spool-up" helps to mask any traditional rubber band effect.

Yes sir, see negative aspect is ok.

 

But to base your buying decision on eliminating the negative aspects as the only determinant is not the way to go and only show one's personality trait.

 

Decision should still be holistic and objective. Just how i feel

national pass-time is complaining.. it's nothing to do with high price or low price.. even COE $10k or even $1, still have ppl got thing to say..

On those couple of occasions I used 98 ron, I noticed that the engine trailing behind effect is very much minimized.  But since I don't practice hard accl often, I am on 95.  Jazz G3.

While all eyes are on Cat B, the surprise will be in A. $47K is neither here (above $45K) nor there (below $50K). The $45K buyers are waiting while the $50K horde are thin-out. Plus with only 1 weekend to collect orders, it is physically difficult to meet the (tsunami) numbers.

A : $44K (below $45k to trigger the $45k horde)

B : $43K

B below A, another butt slap on the scholars, reminding their policy has collapsed.

Bro pls don't get me wrong ya.

Mazda 6 i definitely like the chio look but am scare of the high expensive parts and repair due to my adventure job.

As for chevolet scare no parts than need rest in workshop i sure die.

My line cannot go w/o car

My daily mileage abt 300-400km

 

Your line need such a long car? If its only for occupation perhaps no need right?

 

I believe hyundai should have cheap parts. Cos my laopok verna has cheap servicing and parts when done outside. so there u go.

 

decide if you want a "working car" or a car that you like.

Tan chong rebate is 40k

Borneo rebate is 34k

Hyundai(ubi) rebate is 31k

High rebate is from your own money la as COE down more than 11k and they adjusted only 5-6k ....

Wah Lao 300-400 km per day?

 

Then your car definitely cannot last 5 yrs

 

I am high mileage user also only 100 km per day.. around 35k per year.

 

300-400km per day is more than Taxi average liao lol. Their daily min. is 250km as per regulation.
