You got the same model? I had book the same colour as displayed at Ubi showroom.

Something like grey colour.

I am puzzled why the receipt printed 2017. Base on my research, think the facelift model is similar to the below link as shown.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ah7-6HDOD0s

I just hope that when take car in august 2016 and next month display the new model. By then will bang head! :(

I got white orchid pearl.

That is not the facelift model. It's for the China market and the rear light is kinda ugly. Hehe.

Don't worry, I don't think there will be any facelift this year. The plan is next year.

korean cars arent cheap any more.

looking at the newer korean models like Tucson and sorento

they are more expensive than their peers like the xtrail. outlander etc.

accidentally found this site showing the profit margin for different model

http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onemotoring/en/lta_information_guidelines/buy_a_new_vehicle/car_cost.MainPar.30963.File.tmp/Car_Cost_Update.pdf

Elantra also has, some more both front seats. I think K3 is only for driver?

Tested the elite model today. Think only for the driver and front passenger?

Turbocharged

Talking about cars can get many people very emotional and of course 'nice' is very subjective. As I have said earlier, objective of this thread is to get feedback from either owners or would be buyers who have tested some of the models to share their views. Not necessarily we have to agree with everything but at least we have more information to digest and decide what works best for you.

While I don't quite agree that conti cars are more problematic, I do agree their maintenance cost are likely to cost more for various reasons. Of course again we have to measure this against the same category of cars. Not a Jap/Korean costing $90K against a conti that is $130K.

I also made a mistake for stating saloon as I was actually looking at price range more than whether it is saloon or SUV. Of course now I skip the 7 seater since the budget has dropped. There are a few 7 seaters still within this range but let's keep it simple.

My personal experiences with all the test drives and visits to their show rooms.

Citroen C4 Picasa - I must say I am very impressed with this car both for the interior finishing and performance on the road. Only worry is cost to maintain it.

Toyota Altis - It was a proven car but it has priced itself out with poor interior finishes. In my opinion, once the other brands prove themselves, they will have a hard time catching up.

Both Kia K3 and Hyundai Elentra - The interior plastic feel is the only thing that puts me off. My experiences with Hyundai is that they are under power and thus higher FC. Would be great if they were 2 litre which I understand is norm in other countries. I suspect this is to lower car cost but someone did mentioned actually it is cheaper to produce bigger engine.

Sabaru XV - I quite like the interior finishes but didn't get a chance to test drive it. Was told here that you need to approach SE and not they offer. Understand FC, power and noise are the negative feedback

Mazda 3 - Heard many reviews but most times show room is crowded. Again youtube review is mostly 2 litre. Will take a closer look and test this car

Honda Vezel - Have to deal with PI. Understand road noise and power are the key issues. Have not tested drive it. The road is flooded with this model.

Nissan qashqai - Both interior and exterior I quite like it. I must qualify here, it is just me. I am not a Nissan or Mitsubishi person. Temp KIV it.

I realised that whenever I start scrutinize a purchase, I will end up buying something very different from the original list. So the search is still on but that is what I wish to share.

I remembered when I was looking for a new car, I listed out what I need in a car. Then start searching for all the cars that can fulfill my needs. From that list I will narrow down further by comparing the features, I will also rank the features. At the end the car with most ticks will be the one I buy

Almera, people buy for the space and it's 5 speed Mt.

Nevermind that it doesn't have traction control, all wheels disc brakes and 6 speed Mt which accent has. I dun like the shape of Almera as well.

Between a manual Almera (MIT) and a manual Accent (MIK), I'd choose kimchi over tomyam.

Korean steel is very strong

I would have agreed with you, I always have the opinion of Toyota as a reliable brand ... but not after 2 of my friends have problem with their brand new Altis less than 3 months of owning the car this year..

First had faulty alternator ... got it replaced at BM within the day after reporting the problem.

Second had gear box problem, BM has not have the spare part and he has to wait 6 weeks for part to arrive .... and BM say need to send car in for 3 days to replace the gearbox.

I am totally shock of the Toyota quality these days. .... both cars are less than 3 months old when detected the above-mentioned problem.

better than mine... I still stick to Toyota/Honda for my next car

U guys not alone. My goal posts shifted few times since last yr..

As I dont have big family, almost any type of car can suit me. It just depends on known reliability, price, comfort level, nvh, aesthetics, sound quality of stock sound system. My shortlist could b like cuv, suv, baby / mini / mid mpv, sedan, 5dr hatch.

Opel Astra 1.0A turbo Easytronic is an underrated ride going for $98K.

Was blown away when I test drove it over the weekend.

Superb handling, insulation and feels like a 1.6

I have yet to test drive the car but I saw it on display. I must say it has one of the best finishes and features for this price range.

I guess when someone is trying to penetrate the market, you get a very good bargain. Car already proven overseas just how is the local support for this car. More owner feedback will help.
