Yes it's quite a bit but my cardiologist is taking quite aggressive approach treatment as I need to get my cholesterol down to optimal levels. My BP is normal so my highest risk factors is my LDL and 50% blockage.

also been taking blood tests every 6 months and it working very well for me.

Your LDL is really low now...  How do you determine the 50% blockage, you did coronary Angiogram?

Yes, i started taking statins for first time from Sep 2022, and it came down in 6 months. Then act smart stopped for 1 year cos I read it's not good long term, and so it came back with vengeance all time high + 50% blockage. cardio said in my case LDL has to maintain below 1.8. Sep 2024 was the best readings cos I was scared out of hell when cardio said i had 10% chance of heart attack in next 10 years, so i was super disciplined.

Under what situations need to go for heart ct scan ah?

if old age above 50 but no 3 highs still must?

😬

Don't need for most people. Only for patient with symptoms or high risk factors.

Especially if you don't have even isolated hyperlipidemia.

Do regular checks with a cardiologist. They can assess whether need or not.

My cardiologist said I no need. But I can insist for it

I don't know about heart CT scan if they different from other, ever since I read about how CT scan can increase risk of cancer due to high radiation. I think better let your doc decide if you have the risk of heart diseases to justify it.

As a person who always do endurance sports, i started to visit Cardiologist at NUH Heart Centre since 2020.

Well, i don't have 3 high.

From thereon, it is a biennial visit.  Next visit will be October 2026.

1st visit took more extensive test that resulted in charges of $1k.

For next 2 visits, it was about $300/visit.  Just blood test and consultation.

Lastly, i went as private patient.

You sound like you can’t wait to discover something to justify all the monies spent

Ya, can insist to do once to see your heart status if there is any blockage.

Sometimes you thought you have low risk or won’t have blockage but after scan have blockage.

And then you thought you might have blockage but after scan, all clear.
