i am in my late 30s...not sure why i kanna so high premium though....lots of IPs dont do probationary licence...so i am stuck with either Income, FWD or AIG.

I think its because you are a P plate? They usually load premiums on young and/or inexperienced drivers.

It is not advisable to buy car 1st 3 years after getting a driving license.

Hi, I bought my Mazda 3 last month, delivery in Jan. Similar situation as you with insurance - 4.2k for 1 year from AIG. I'm going to get Aviva - 2.5k for the standard plan: $300 excess, 12 month new-for-old replacement, covers me and any driver. The price includes a MINDEF discount for having their group policy insurance and the 25% promo they're running now.

SE didn't say anything to me about the camera installation though. Was under the impression that it was pre-installed given what other bros have posted in the past. Sounds like an excuse to get a backup battery for the camera if it is not preinstalled 🤣

4.2k is crazy for insurance when it’s not even a performance car .. I bought my first car (i30 turbo) under my name 2 years back and the insurance is less than 1.5k. Even when I was enquiring on insurance for the Impreza 2.0 it was only 2.4k (even though Subaru normally has higher insurance premiums)

ikr... then again, what was I expecting from AIG 😂 luckily Aviva/NTUC had much lower prices, but decided to go with Aviva because I had good exp with their claims dept, although for travel rather than car.

I shudder at the though of paying such high insurance premium

Not possible to do it... i got myself a GPS module at $45.

SE also mentioned that TEK will not install the cam for me😱. Went to youtube to see how it is installed...looks fairly easy for me.. It's sth that reminds me of what I usually do during my NS days😅.

Mazda linked AIG quoted me $4.2k for 1 year insurance(old for new replacement and 100kcoverage) and $7.2k for 2 years😱😅😱. Income quoting me $2.6k for 1 year (no old for new replacement and 50k coverage). If I do not take up that AIG plan, I need to top up $500. Just got my licence a few mths back and 1st car... any recommendations bro?

Same. But can choose not to take up meh? I think i have signed. I thought it's part of the package.

I straight up told my SE that there was no way I was paying for AIG. He gave me the engine and chassis number to get the insurance from other insurers.

The insurance rebate only 500? Hoe much commission Mazda take from the commission like this? I wonder if it's too late if I haven't collect the car

Contract says if you dont take AIG insurance den they will take back the $500 rebate. Well so it is either ntuc $2600+$500 or AIG $4200. So i choose to pay them $500 and get that ntuc one. I still save $1.1k.

I got my coe on 18th nov 2020. 1st bid. But gotta wait till 5th jan den collect car...counting down already....from like 50 days to now 18 days.... Think too456 should have signed on the dotted lines in the same week as me when Mazda drop all the price of mazda 3 by 5k.

Yes, same week as you. Should be collecting my car a few days after you 🙂

Any buyers can advise?

My contract says in house finance rebate is $1000 and insurance subsidy for one year is $1000.

So if I tell the SE now I don't want AIG? I need to top up 1k?

The listed price is if u get insurance from them. If not, need to add $500 into the listed price. Also, remember to ask for 1k SE discount from the listed price. This is the best that SE can deduct. If your SE say no such thing, I suggest u change other branch for another SE and say u saw it online.

I was quoted $3000+ for AIG. Then I told too ex and they asked for NTUC which is $2000. In the end, I get budget direct with any workshop at $1500. Try to get more quotations and compare
