Spanly 5th Gear July 20, 2019 Share July 20, 2019 When an auto movement stops the usual suspect is a broken mainspring All it takes for a pair of skilful hands is about 20mins to remove the mainspring barrel and replace the mainspring.. an original Rolex mainspring can be had for about $100 For Tag heuer just use the standard swiss made mainspring. $50 to 60 kao tim Managed to find 1 at Tanjong Katong Complex... true enough, the mainspring broke. Not less than $100 though... for the replacement plus servicing, he charged me $180 which is reasonable as is still less than half the cost vs what I believe the Tag agent will charged. It comes with 6 mths warranty vs agent's 1 year. While sending down the watch to repair last week, I was looking around some of the watches his shop is carrying... He recommended me the Seiko SRPB41 & quoted a very reasonable price. Did some read up over the past week on this model & decided to get it today while collecting my watch.
