Yes i do wash it with tap water before putting back into my watch box.
no i dont pressure test.  How to? I dont have the equipment.

But my watches are all waterproof, i wear them to bathe and swim, wash car, water plants etc etc….No issue.

its not the sweat that you need to worry about, but the oils.  Our skin does produce some oils which can cause oxidisation on gold.  Also fingers touching here and there and onto the watch. So its good to wash a gold watch with water and wipe down with a soft cloth after a day’s wear.

That's exactly what I do, wash with tap water and wipe down with microfibre towel.

"But my watches are all waterproof"

The AD advisor said that you can only assume so after a recent service and it has been pressure tested.

I highlighted the old YM because it is an old watch. Granted, ADs want to add their disclaimer and caveats but I do see their point.

Some of the ADs offer pressure test. It's a member's service, if you have any specific models to pressure test, especially older models, can pm me.

Its Ok, I know Rolex watches well. And i know my watches even better.  No need pressure test for me.
All good, even my true vintage ones which are way older than the YM.

thanks for your kind offer though.

Bravo!

On an old day date no less!

I don't doubt your certainty. But out of curiosity, when was the last servicing for this? Were gaskets looked at by watchmaker?
