Actually one possibility why Indonesia has zero cases is because they lack the testing kits required to detect the Wuhan coronavirus.

Medical experts have raised concerns about Indonesia's ability to detect novel coronavirus, potentially leaving a number of undiagnosed cases on Australia's doorstep.

The Sydney Morning Herald and The Age can reveal that Indonesian medical laboratories lack the testing kits needed to rapidly detect the Wuhan coronavirus, according to one of the country's leading molecular biologists, and the virus may already be present in the country despite government claims of no infections.

The specific reagents — chemicals used in testing kits to help analyse and identify the Wuhan or novel coronavirus — are not yet available in the country. These required reagents are only due to arrive in Indonesia in the next few days.

In the interim, the country's labs have only been able to detect the presence of the coronavirus family in a potentially infected person. This family of viruses also includes the common cold, and the MERS and now-extinct SARS viruses. The country is yet to positively confirm a single case of the novel coronavirus.

Firstly this is at Habour Front Mall, NOT vivocity.

It looks like it's the food court that's affected. The surrounding retail shops are shuttered as well.

And looks like only a part of the level 3 where the foodcourt is located is closed to public. You can see at level 2 ppl are still moving about freely in one of the pics.

Even information like this ppl can get it wrong. There's even a video of those ppl putting on their protective gear. Maybe Will Smith is in there.

The bigger question now is how govt going to ensure that we have enough emergency provisions in such an event whereby all countries in the world need the same thing at the same time.

the only solution to this problem is being self-reliance, self-sufficient and self-dependent. Just like a small family, before you can take care of others, you must be able to take care of your own family and household first. Only then, can you start to take care of the larger communities and the nation.

being dependent on others for our own stockpile of medical provision and supplies is not going to be a long-term solution, neither having a factory/facilities just for this purpose is not well optimize as well. We need to strike a balance between getting a portion of our supplies from elsewhere (who has the larger facilities and capacity to manufacture large volume), yet we should solve some of our own internally requirement within our own country.

in times of crisis, we need to depend on ourselves, when everyone is fighting for the same resources. If you were to look at HK today, when they need more mask - they just bang on the pharmacy shuttle asking to insisting that they deserved to purchase more mask, their citizen goes everywhere to look for mask (but they forgot where majority of the manufacturer of the mask in located in the world).

When come to fighting for freedom, they feel that it is their rights to use the mask to protect their own privacy from the authorities, and it is their rights to fight for freedom. This analogy is like, when I need/demand something - I should get it no matter what is the cost to others. When I feel that I need to fight for my own freedom, it is also right to upset the peace of the society and bring chaos to the rest of the people. Isn't such behaviour selfish? being an ASEAN chinese myself, I cannot help but feel ironic and disgusted at some of our own behaviour. None of us is perfect in all aspect, but such incident should give us some time to reflect and ponder whether if our behaviour, attitude, intention and motivation is for the good of the rest of the communities, or are we just being selfish.

Well, something to think about it. The close proximity of the 2019 Hong Kong Protest and this Wuhan Viral Outbreak, shows that both countries need each other. In life, you may not get your way always, one day - you will need the help of others as well.

Same goes to China, if you insist on imposing your system of ruling/governing the nations on others - one day, you will need to receive the assistance of the rest of the nations for supplies and medical assistance in times of crisis.

Life is just so funny and cute. If you play a trick on others, others will also play a trick on you.

Emirates took a different approach on the wuhan virus to Beijing.. Passengers flying to Beijing with Emirates will be required to come 8 hours before flight departure. Maybe they want them to arrive super early to observe them to see for any symptoms and also maybe to also take test to see whether anyone over there had the virus. In anyway I doubt those pax will complain as it is due to ensure that everyone is safe from the virus.. P
