After mazdaowner's Thread, decide to post something. Kids I think helps a lot for marriages. It is like a joint project that last for 18 years...

June 2018, Stockholm

I'm amazed you still have time to post process... maybe my trips are very long and so I have thousands of photos to transfer and process... takes way to long... I usually spend a month sorting and processing... ha ha... now I just use mobile phone... too heavy to carry so much gear along... or trust my handy Nex-6... probably better than my mobile phone...

I usually just select like maybe 40 shots out of thousands and post process them. Then I upload them to my website so I can view them easily. I am feeling my gear is getting heavier... probably no more energy to lug so many lens on my trips. No sure what to carry if we get to travel again.

I feel wasted leh... just select 40 shots... usually I take photos of every place we visit, and take some good memorable ones... that adds up... maybe to 100-200+ photos for a 2 week holiday and to about 1000-1500 for a month long holiday... hahaha...

Just get a Sony A6400 and one lens, 16-70 mm (very expensive) and that's really enough... hahaha... enough for wide and portrait and a little zoom... beyond that just crop... those are my compromises now with kids... heh! Problem is no moolah to upgrade from my trusty NEX-6 and 16-50 Powerzoom lens... which is decent enough... but nothing compared to my A99...

I stopped using DSLR for 10 years.

Just use Sony RX-1. Low profile.

RX-1 is a really good camera. I am also using full frame compact with prime lens for holiday.

With full frame, I just crop photo rather than zoom.

Tallinn Estonia. Of all the Baltic states Tallinn feels the most busy and crowded, prob due to the easy access from Helsinki. This trip was fun. Started in Stockholm, overnight ferry to Riga, then across the Baltic states, then Helsinki from Tallinn. After that is 4 nights in st Petersburg and 4 nights at Moscow.
The baltic states is cheap but really got nothing much to see in terms of architecture or even natural landscapes. No mountains…

I find places like Poland, Hungary, Croatia, slovakia, Slovenia much more stuff.

Rx1 is really old camera. I think easier to get a Sony a7c with a 35mm f 1.8.
my current gear is like 14-24mm, 24mm f1.4, 35mm f1.2, 85mm f1.4, 135mm f1.8. Thinking of selling them away since they are collecting dust for over 1.5 years..

Even the A7C is like too big already... after using the E-mount, really no reason to go bigger lor... ha ha... I refuse to pixel peep anymore... ha ha ha... I also give up printing my own photos finally... just don't have time... now giving all my time to the kids and wife... lug big camera on holiday, post process, print and curate photo and frame... that's the bachelor lifestyle... now my holiday photo simple simple... mobile phone camera or NEX-6 only... ha ha ha... my back also gave way some time ago... cannot carry the DSLR anymore... I think my NEX-6 even older than the RX-1...

Wah... overnight on ferry on the Baltic Sea a bit scary eh? Was it choppy? I kind of don't trust the former Soviet states infrastructure... ha ha...

Not choppy at all. I don’t remember any of my family falling sea sick except once, which is a cruise at Hamilton islands in Australia. That one was so choppy that you cannot stand or walk. Had to sit down, everyone. My daughter puked on the ship. Personally, I am pretty immune to sea sickness.

I took a 4 night cruise on a Russian cruise ship before, Stockholm, Tallinn, st Petersburg , Helsinki, Stockholm. Princess Anastasia. We had like the biggest room on the ship and it was still very cheap. It is a one bedroom suite, with seperate living room.
