There are still many people still paying such $50-60 per month hp plan and they still feel that no need to change and ok to pay such price for a hp plan. Some of these people even comment that those $10 hp plan no good. Lol.

because they don't know how to port over and some of those cheap plans cannot be used for calling when overseas. This might be one of their criteria also.

I got a "new" line for my wife from one MVNO  So I try to install Whatsapp, but it wouldn't work.

Bcuz it's a recycled number and the previous owner had activated 2FA. So every time, activation will go to his/her email, which we obviously have no access. After much ding-dong back and forth, the solution is to disconnect that service and get another line. I think the problem is caused by Whatsapp.

Didn’t know if the mobile number is a recycled number, it would give problem to whatsapp, if the previous owner has set some security.

But i think most mobile numbers are recycled. Esp if the number is a so called nice number.

The 2FA should send an SMS to the current number.. no?

Pay for people's phone plan and the go for the most expensive plans.

Give $100 phone allowance and they go for $25 or even $8 plan.

Nowadays co. plan is a pool isn't it? Just use to your hearts content..

I remember they insist on sending to email, for verification or something. It was a very frustrating ding-dong battle.

I gave up and cut off the number completely. Get a new one is much easier.

M1 releases a new Maxx plan with 199GB of local and 9GB of roaming data for S$7.90

M1 has just announced a new SIM only Maxx plan priced at S$7.90 a month. There is a catch though, you have to port your phone number in or else if you’re a new customer, you’ll pay S$9.90 a month.

But it all boils down to what you get for your S$7.90 (or S$9.90). and it does look like you get some bang for your buck!

First off you get 199GB of local roaming data (M1 didn't tell us at what speeds although it is likely to be 4G), 500 minutes of local outgoing calls, 99 local SMS messages, and unlimited incoming calls. Next, like a lot of new mobile plans, M1 is including free 9GB of roaming data for Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Bangladesh, as well as 1GB of data for other countries a month.

While the fine print states, “M1 Maxx will be offered at a discounted rate of S$7.90 for 12 billing cycles (i.e. months)”, M1 say that there is no lock-in period.

More information about this and other M1 Maxx plans are available here.

If you're not interested in changing your current phone plan but are looking to augment it with roaming data options, consider signing up for eSIM options, which we've compared here.

Signed up yesterday for my boy and awaiting SMS notification of SIM dispatch, hope I can be in the first 10k ppl to port-in a number to benefit from the $7.90.

If not, port out again 😏

Finally, CirclesLife is upgrading their "lifetime free account" to $5 for 200GB so we're moving on.

just to take note that Maxx is not "equivalent" to M1 SIM only plan hor

i believe Maxx is the "budget tier" of M1, correct?

if im not wrong, 2FA locks to your phone AND number. You need the physical phone to work.

If you didnt disable while on your original phone, change phone also cannot right?

If frequent Malaysia, Indonesia and Thailand, can look at Heya.  Data Plan 30 days - 10$.  1GB roaming data rollover to 10GB.
