Not easy to kio that liulian, need striker instinct to move into position while still onside. All the rest def were static when he pounce on the rebound.

if Chelsea had released him, he would hv to serve a quarantine for don’t know how many days n that means he will miss even more games. That’s the reason why not only Chelsea but all the other EPL teams refused to let their players go.

It is all v strange. The brazilian players in EPL were not released because UK treats Brazil in the red list, which means anyone coming back from there will need to serve 10 days SHN in hotel, and the players will miss 3 matches (2 EPL + 1 UCL). So English FA said dun release... and all the players kanna...

Then there is the fiasco of Brazil vs Argentina, which was called off after 5 min...

The Red list thing that UK treats Brazil, is reciprocal, meaning Brazil also treats English players likewise, so England-based players also need to be quarantined on arrival in Brazil - which means i don't know how they would expect the 9 or so players from England to be able to play for Brazil just a few days after arriving from England... so hypocritical.

Aston Villa release Argentinian players to play, and the 2 played for Argentina in Brazil, so the Brazilian health authorities stepped in 5 min after game started, to say that health protocol was breached (cos the England-based Argentine players were supposed to be quarantined, but were playing so all the players were at risk...) and stopped the match! Didn't they have the names before he arrived in Brazil, or appear on the team sheet???

Anyway, Brazil FA not happy, so got FIFA to exercise the ban on the English-based players for not turning up...

And the best thing, is that at the 11th hour, no more ban, so they all can continue to play...

CR7 is all about goals n he delivered. That’s why I mentioned he is a better fit at United than City where he would need to press, defend n do much more. Anyway, let’s see if he is the final piece of the jigsaw at Old Trafford. I’m really excited for this season as all the 4 favourites hv a chance n hopefully this 4 horse race will not be settled till the final weekend of the season!

Yes I did. Was curious to see how a near 37yr old Forward can adjust to the physicality n intensity of EPL after 12 yrs away. I didn’t notice anything amiss about United’s play. I suppose the test would be when matches go against them and when there is conflict eg penalty kicks, free kicks etc when United will hv too many stars wanting to exert their authority. This may test their team spirit cos sometimes not good for teams to hv too many big egos.

For now, OT is a happy place to be at and with the fans coming back, it will be a fortress once again. This was United’s downfall last season ie poor home form.

On a separate note, Saul Niguez didn’t hv a good debut for Chelsea. I guess the intensity and physicality of EPL will need some time for him to adjust. He lost the ball few times n had few misplaced passes. Although Lukaku will take the plaudits, I felt Kovacic was the best Chelsea player. His ability to bring the ball out from tight positions, interceptions n tackling were good. Just too bad his shooting is poor though he did score a goal.

Because Newcastle keep the back very tight. Except the 2nd goal which cr7 did a run through, all other 3goals had Newcastle def pack in their penalty box.

Space were very limited to allow much passing or crossing.

United like the other 3 favourites have a 25% chance of winning in my opinion. Can’t really separate them and this makes it the most open title race for years!

CR7 and Varane acquisition has made United stronger. Chelsea plugged their main weakness which was scoring goals by getting Lukaku in. Pool with VVD, Matip and Gomez back are like new signings. City are City ie the defending Champs and Champs in 3 of the last 4 seasons so who will win it in May? Your guess as good as mine!
